Hello, I wanted to help answer this as I am very curious about this question girl. Personally, I did not have a smell on my duvet insert at all. When I first opened it there was possibly a plastic smell from it being vacuumed sealed. But it after it was washed and dried it was perfect. I am so sorry to hear you have a gross smell on yours. I would contact the seller directly for your money back. The only thing I will say, is this duvet does have bad feather problems. But besides that, the comfort is super nice. I hope the seller helps you out on this. 🙏🏼
