Beautiful Skin Tones - Markers Require Practice
I really like the Chameleon pens! They're one of my favorite mediums to color with these days because they make blending, highlighting, and full coloring easy.I also like the colors of the markers. This set of Skin Tones has 5 beautiful skin tone shades. I am still fairly new to using these markings and working with various skin tones, but have found that if I color in a circular motion I am able to avoid having the lines of the ink appear once they dry. The color at full color is vibrant and lays flawlessly on the page. These markers will bleed through standard coloring book pages, so I do recommend having a blotter behind the page you are coloring to keep the next page from being ruined. I will say that it took awhile to figure out the technique to use the blending process, but after playing with the pens for a bit I did get the hang of blending with the pens and ABSOLUTELY LOVE them. Chameleon Pens also has tutorials on their website explaining how to use the pens with different techniques and there are also instructions in the packaging.Another benefit of these markers is that they're refillable and the nibs (tips of the markers) are replaceable. So, yes these markers a more expensive than other alcohol based markers, but they'll last a lifetime and the ink refill and nibs are not as expensive as the initial investment of the entire marker.TIP: Once the brush tip is "broken in", you will want to be aware how closely you are coloring to the lines. As I mentioned, this ink will bleed through a page, but that also means that it will spread across the page. I didn't have a problem with the color bleeding over the lines when the nib was brand new, but after some use, that's when I really noticed that I didn't want to color directly next to them. I've found that once I leave a little space, the color will spread and fill in any remaining space. My photos show examples of the Nude and Sand colors in this set, the mermaids are from Burlesque Mermaids Coloring Book. I wish I would have had these pens when I started coloring in this workbook, because the mermaid skin looks 100% better than the markers, pencils, or pastels that I was using beforehand.Overall, I would and have recommended these pens to my friends and family and I hope that my review helps you decide whether or not you'd like them too!

Good range of skintones; superb product
The color control is wonderful, the basic tones are excellent for portraits and other drawings that include human flesh, and after some practice, the gradients are easily attainable. Love these colors which are excellent for skin so much that I ordered a set with more colors for other areas in the paintings. Advice: always put a heavy backing sheet on any page of whatever thickness that you color with markers of any type. Whether they bleed through the paper depends entirely on how you apply them. This is not a fault of the markers, but entirely a result of how they are applied. These particular markers are alcohol based so they do not spoil the paper as water-based ones sometimes do and can create a very nice smooth, all-over tone, blend nicely, or can be used to create gradients. All require reading and following the usage directions included in the pack and then practicing until one develops the results and control one needs for the effects desired. Using these markers is an acquired skill that is well worth the time and effort to develop.

Good for beginner alcohol marker users
The blending is a little tough to get the hang of, but it does work. Marker bleed happens and this is no exception. The caps don't match the colors either. All in all, my sister and I do enjoy these markers, through everything they are still alcohol markers (and don't have a hefty price tag)

worth it
These are so much more than markers. I've never seen markers work like this but they can change their intensity but adjusting them and making the color fade. My daughter is an artist and won't use anything else but these and makes professional quality artwork with them. When she first asked for them, I was dumbfounded by the price. I get it now. Highly recommend, if you have someone who is serious about their craft.

Making skin tones easier
This skin tone set eased removed some of the angst in doing skin tones. Having just started using Chameleon pens, the availability of a few more colors as a starting point for skin tones makes things a lot easier and allows for more even more variance for lighting effects.

Nice alchohol skin tone markers!
Love these! They can take a while to learn to use properly, but just play around with them and you'll get the hang of it! Colors are also amazing without using the blender.
