This EVOO came packaged extremely well and about a year into its best by date (which is usual for non Novello). Upon opening it smelled fresh and grassy. The taste is quite vegetal, green bell pepper, peppery kick. It’s a robust EVOO but not the most robust you can get. It’s quite different from the usual fruity/ buttery EVOOs. This is great for pastas, pizzas, fish, and salads. Any dish with a fresh and simple taste, add a drizzle of this and it elevates it immediately. I would not use it for red meats, stews, or poultry dishes. The bottle itself is a good size and quality. And the cost for this oil is about average for the quality. I can’t say for the exact polyphenols amount in this batch as it’s not listed anywhere but based on the slightly bitter/ peppery kick I’d say it’s probably somewhere between 250-500 mg/kg, which is considered high.

So we usually bring back olive oil from small producers that we visit in Tuscany. We were running low so I ordered a few different brands on Amazon and I have to say this olive oil is as good or better than anything I’ve brought back from Italy myself. Really pronounced nutty and herbaceous flavors, great color and the aroma is to die for. I’ll be ordering again and again and again.. large bottle doesn’t even last a month in my house.

It makes me feel better with Certificate of DOP . I can trust it is real Virgin olive oil. And it solidifies when I keep in refrigerator that proves it is pure - no added other chip oil and chemicals to look and taste like pure virgin olive oil. I m glad it is pure that I drink it 3 table spoons everyday.

This is a wonderful addition to any form of Italian cooking. It is also great with fresh salads. The flavor is very good and far different than the everyday run of the mill EVO. I used it while making homemade pasta as well. I would not suggest using for frying as mostly all olive oils do not work well at high heat. Think of this as a secret ingridient that brings good flavor.

Simply one of the best olive oils that I tasted plus it has D.O.P. and from Italy. Not bad for the price. A great tasting virgin olive oil Segreto. I drink a teaspoon in morning and at night. I only use it for salads.. not for cooking . Simply too Delicious to waste on cooking. Awesome for the heart . My compliments, thank you for this great tasting olive oil will be ordering regularly.

I do feel like the cheaper version of this has a more floral, grassy taste I prefer. This is still a great olive oil though. I just don't necessarily think this is something i'd cook with all the time. The cheaper version of this has a taste that is a little less bold, but still distinct and works well on everything. I'd say this one works well as a finishing oil, but you can use it in cooking. I would just say that if you're going to buy this, take a little sip of it to see how it really tastes before you start using it on everything to see how you like it. This one is a little more earthy and peppery than the cheaper one.

Love this olive oil! I use it to make pizza dough and sauce by scratch. Such rich flavor, even when you open the bottle it smells amazing. I was skeptical if spending more $ to purchase a premium olive oil, but I’m so happy I did. It lasts a long time, so it is well worth the investment. I’ve been using it over the past couple years and have only just recently purchased a third bottle (note though that I only use the oil when making italian dishes from scratch, i use lower quality oil for other things like veggies)

This oil has a terrific, delicate flavor. Great for many fresh dishes. Please don't cook with it as I caught my daughter doing. That was a waste of money! I used to buy specialty oils from various shops in Napa Valley. No more -- this is one of the best oils I have tasted.
