Ebury Press Great Hair Days: & How to Have Them

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to post this to say how impressed I was with this book. It is a book that is not just aimed at the fortunate people who can have their hair cut and styled by Luke Hersheson but its geared to offer the best possible advice on all aspects of hair care for everyone. I have learned so much from this book on all the things I have been doing wrong with my hair and it all makes good sense. There is amazing advice on a really wide range of topics relating to hair from choosing a hairdresser, different cuts, how to do your own great blow-dry, health advice on hair, loads on different hair products and their uses, essential equipment, styling products, shampoos, how to deal with problem hair, hair for all ages and more the list of subjects is really comprehensive and very well explained.This is a book all women ought to have in their home as a reference, I have already used a lot of advice from the book and the best thing is it works!You may not be a supermodel or famous celebrity but this book will show you how to at least start to achieve the look from home and help you correct mistakes that you may be making with your hair. A really good buy - highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially as it completely caters to everyone! Whether you are a complete novice or an expert or somewhere in between you can understand and appreciate everything!! I find it so hard nowadays to know what products to buy (there are so many on the market) and when I get them I have no idea what to do with them and how it will make my hair exactly how I want it...So I am now thrilled that I have my own version of a hair bible!!! Would seriously recommend this book for everyone and anymore. Beautifully written and well thought out!! A must read!!!! Enjoy.

Interesting book

I am so pleased I purchased this, I have learnt so many new things - its my new bible. A great Christmas buy!

Acquistato di seconda mano (nuovo non vale i soldi che costa), l'avevo visto a Londra prima del lockdown ma per il prezzo esoso a fronte di qualita' base dei contenuti non lo avevo comprato. Avendolo trovato a 8 euros Amazon mi sono detta: OK!Il contenuto e' abbastanza scontato, non c'e' niente di nuovo. Si tratta del solito parrucchiere che cerca di pubblicizzare il proprio salone che costa un occhio della testa (oltre 360 stelline per un taglio e piega!) e il suo prodotto in crema che invece costa 10 sterline - non l'ho provato quindi non so se sia efficace o meno. Ci sono dei consigli su prodotti da utilizzare ma non so se siano 'velatamente' pubblicizzati/joint ventures o meno.Introduzione dalla celebrity di turno e della tizia che si definisce giornalista perche' scrive di rossetti (pensavo che per essere giornalisti occorresse essere iscritti all'ordine, ma forse negli UK la bloggara di turno e' OK) che sono solo marketing. Parla dell'importanza del taglio - e sono perfettamente d'accordo e del fatto che ci sono troppi prodotti sul mercato - e lui pubblicizza i suoi. Impala il supersonic della Dyson (e pubblicizza il suo asciugacapelli, quando il migliore sul mercato e' della Parlux, ma non lo menziona neanche). Alcune info sono OK (soprattutto per chi ha i capelli afro), ma il resto sono informazioni trite e ritrite.Belle le foto, i tagli non mi piacciono (e' una questione soggettiva): troppo spettinati e arruffati, i capelli appaiono spesso spenti e sfibrati - non una buona pubblicità per il salone. L'unica parte che mi e' piaciuta e' quella dedicata a come gestire la frangia. Alcuni consigli pratici per domare il crespo e una sezione dedicata anche ai capelli afro (finalmente un po' di diversità').Libro dimenticabile. OK a 8 euro come coffee table, decisamente no a prezzo pieno. Puo' andare bene per teenagers alle prime armi con prodotti per capelli.Ottimo il venditore che si e' subito attivato quando ci sono stati dei ritardi nella consegna del libro.
