Here is my edit based on my most recent purchase - if you wear this style of dress from Amazon, you’ve likely discovered that some are cut with less girth in the body - this is one of the more narrow styles. In the wider styles, a medium fits but I prefer the ease of a large in the hips. In this style, the medium is too tight on my hips, and the buttons pull most unelegantly. But I ordered the seafoam green (that was a daily deal) in an XL, and I actually prefer this fit. I'm not sure how well the bottom button will hold up once I’m crossing my legs (etc.) but the fit is more flattering while still being just as easy. If you're bigger in the hips and fairly proportionate on top, this is the better cut. The XL in the wider cut has lots of extra fabric in the shoulders and bust; this XL is fitting better and being more flattering compared to the large in the other. The following is my original review: I have several of these dresses. I love them! This most recent purchase, red in August 2023, is an entirely new cut. It is narrower, the pockets are off, the sleeves are tighter. Some of you will like this. Some of us do not. Material seems to be the same. Maybe the seller could change the item picture?

This shirt tail dress is very nice. I am 5'4' with large bust and upper arms. the XXL was too large. XL worked great for me. Room for my bust and arms with enough space that is looks nice and sleeve length was perfect. I purchased white and feel that I personally will use a slip under the dress. Although many people might not think a slip for the white is needed. To test the dress for shrinkage, I washed it in cold water delicate and dried on hanger. Came out very nice held shape and no shrinkage. I did not use warm water or dryer. Dress looks very nice on, however, with all those buttons, I plan on sewing the whole front down so there is no button popping or gaps that would ruin the sleek line of the dress. I am able to put the buttoned up dress on over my head. I will most likely get this dress in another color. This fabric is mostly cotton, It has no stretch. Not a negative, just a reality.So now I am going to share. I am 76 and am happily invited to a bridal shower. All guests are instructed to wear ALL WHITE. Seriously -- very cute on all the young sweet gals. Not so kind to us seniors. The first 5 dresses I tried, I looked like MOBY DICK. Remember the white whale. No harpoons please.Any way this dress saved me from total dread. I plan on some turquoise jewelry to give a pop of color and maybe a southwestern/sundance look. (In my dreams).

I wish more items like this came in a petite size. It is nice, but would look nicer if it was just a littleshorter.

Wow, what can I say. I bought this for a job interview 105 degree weather. It seemed like a good idea.I washed it on cold and air dried the dress after trying it on. Ever time I put my hand in the pocket it felt like it was ripping. But I thought ” no way it’s brand new”.Day of interview…. Get ready and put on the dress so I don’t pit out in the 105 degrees. Drive to the interview sit in the car and do some positive affirmations. The moment I get out the car the right side of the dress splits at the seam from armpit to thigh. I think “ok”,” it’s ok” and I shut the door with my left hand and the left side of the dress begins to split ( mind you there is no right side of the dress any longer ) I will be fully exposed in my underwear soon. I search through the car for something to put over it. Alas my vehicle is clean and there are no options. I hug the sides of my body with my arms and pray it doesn’t get worse. When I arrive in reception I ask for a stapler and head for the restroom. To try and fix the dress for the next two panel interviews I have.Fast forward I did not get the job, I’m not saying it’s because of the dress. But it didn’t help and no amount of positive affirmations can turn back time and change the situation.I would give this product negative 2.5 million stars.

The color is way off and so much shorter than advertised and I’m short!

The size is correct. Added and beautiful belt. Took on cruise in hot weather. Great go to dress. I’d buy again.

Well made and so cute - I’m 5’4” and it’s the perfect length. Wish the stripes were a little darker

I ordered a large but it would shrink when washed so I returned it and ordered an x-large and the transaction went smoothly. I really like the dress as it can be used as an abaya with a headpiece. It’s airy and comfortable! I was lucky because they only had 1 x-large left in black and I got it!!

I ordered the xxl where I normally wear a xl and the sizing is way off. This dress fit like a medium! Very disappointed and sending back asap!
