Right part, good price!
Ordered this to replace the "not so good" stainless lever valve that has a very narrow slit to pass water and restricts flow, every couple of months I would go to take a shower and water would just dribble out and I would have to go to the garage and "exercise" the stainless lever valve to get it working again! This new valve has straight thru ports so no restrictions. Very easy to install, just coat all the o-rings with silicone grease and slide together. This fit my Fleck 5600sxt head. Use the two original clips to secure the bypass valve and the two new clips to secure the "Yoke". You have to purchase either a 3/4" or 1" threaded yoke to connect to plumbing/flex hose. I used this 3/4" yoke and it fit perfectly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XTV7RI?

Perfect fit.
Glad to find this part through Amazon. Was worried that I would have to call the installers to come out and replace our broken bypass. I can only imagine what they would have charged for the part and the trip out to install it. This bypass fit perfect and installed with ease. NO LEAKS!!!

used it to replace a bypass that wore out after 6 years
The original bypass started leaking after about 6 years. Not sure why but seems the male output may have slightly warped which caused it to not fit in the noryl female socket. I changed the washers but that didn't fix the leak. Once I replaced it with this new bypass valve, the leak stopped. Satisfied with this item.

Great Value - A+++++
This bypass valve ($24) has been working fine since the install (no leaks). I had a local contractor [that does a lot of work for me] install it for like $20. My old plastic bypass valve developed a slow leak and had to be replaced. I noticed the bypass valve leak while cleaning out my water softener brine tank. Amazon came through again. God only knows what a plumbing company would have charged for parts, labor and travel.

Way better than the stainless steel versions, suprisingly
These plastic bypass valves are far superior to the stainless steel ones. First, when paired with the correctly sized yoke, they have a male NPT conncetion. That is so much better than a female connection, because it eliminates the need for a male-to-male hex nipple. Those hex nipples are notoriously hard to seal against a stainless steel bypass housing, because the threads on both are not perfect, so getting it to seal with even copious amounts of various thread tapes proved to be very difficult. With a male connection, instead you eliminate one whole leak one, and the other is much easier to seal since flexible water heater hoses have rubber gaskets in them making it a sure seal. Second, they allow vastly more volume to flow through the system. On the stainless steel versions of the bypass, there is literally about a 1/8" opening for water to flow on either side of the bypass, due to the incredibly stupid design of the valve and housing. It literally allows a fraction of water to flow through it, even on a 1" bypass. In this plastic bypass, the inner port has a 3/4" round opening, which allows water to flow at a high rate. This is great for the total system output! I only wish it has a 1" opening though, so there was no restriction, but 3/4" beats 1/8" any day. The only problem I had with one of these is that is the stainless steel flexible hose started to cross-thread and flatten the threads on one of the male npt connections. Luckily I was able to keep threading past it and get it to thread correctly. So just be careful when starting out your threads. I was more careful the next times and it didn't have any cross-threading problems. Great overall!
