helps keep litter in the box, not on the floor & helps reduce odors
I love that this box is covered with a swinging door. the cover helps keeps odors inside (instead of filling 3 rooms), and the swing door helps keep litter in the box. My cats had a tendency to scatter litter while scratching, but the lid/door eliminates much of that. my floors are definitely cleaner. while some odors will still be noticable, they are nothing like before with an open litter box. Beware, when you lift the lid to scoop, it can be powerful (because most odors stay inside). The carpet on top is great for cat naps, or looking out the window. My cats loved the swat toy on the side so much, that it no longer exists. Construction is sturdy, easy enough to assemble, however, be aware that this is not an ottoman (don't let kids sit on it). the one thing that I was less than thrilled about is the scratching cardboard on the side: they do not give you enough of it to make it go up the entire length- only fills in about half of that. Otherwise, good value for the price

Love it!
The toy on the side is cardboard as well as the stretching post. I didn't think my cat would use either anyways so it's not a big deal but just to clarify because I couldn't tell in the picture. It's not hard to put together, you just have to push a bit harder than you will originally think safe to do. I was afraid it woulf break but it held fine. Easy to clean. Big and no smell !! I love it. My cat loves it too.

Great litter box for kittens and average cats!
The media could not be loaded. Update:You can hang stuff on it too!! I put a hanging waste bin to hold my pet diapers and litter trash bags!! This thing is awesome.Original ReviewI like this litter box! It’s not too big and keeps litter off the floor! My brown kitten is a messy one and she digs like crazy! Always made a huge mess when I had a topless litter box. Now I’m mess free! Grains barely escape (but they do) when the kittens get out but it’s so much better than NOT having a top.My kittens LOVE their new litter box. At first they were so confused but after a few minutes they got the gist of it. My little girl can dig crazy all she wants, which she did. My little guy jumped on the top and loved it at first but the new smell was throwing him off—he’ll get used to it eventually. The toy extras on the side are GENIUS ideas. Oh lord, my little girl was at it for an HOUR and a HALF straight! It was hilarious. She eventually detached the cardboard piece from the string and I had to reattach it. She even rushed me to reattach it so she can play with it again. Also, my little guy (the black kitten) loves his privacy when he gotta go.The plastic will get ruined over time despite cleaning it. Cleaning the inside may prove tedious because of the frame of the walls if your cats ever have explosive diarrhea. It feels kind of cheap but the design makes up for it if you have basic needs of keeping litter off the floor. Once you put it together, it holds well. One thing you need to understand is it is NOT meant to put heavy weight on it—it’s not a book case. It’s for your cats and to hold your cat or two only. Scooping the litter is pretty easy too. No need to remove the top (unless it gets dirty with poo or pee). The litter will also not escape onto the air and onto surfaces. It will be capsulated for the most part. The odor will still be there but it’s unrealistic to expect that from any litter box—you have to immediately scoop it and replace the litter after a while to remove odor.Overall, kittens and I are happy campers with this new litter box—little to no mess and new toys for loads of play time with a resting place to chill or just climb on and cat all day!

Modern a Cat Litter Box
I like the fact that when you assemble the product the top section sits inside the bottom section - why is this important? Most litter boxes will leak if the cat urinates on the back of the box and then you have a mess outside the box. I have 5 cats and at least once a day somebody hits the back wall. The box is easy to clean except for the ledges inside where the box comes together but a little thought and the solution is there. I only use the litter box as a litter box, I did not attach the scratcher and I have covered the top as my big boy (all 20 pounds) would easily break the lid. I bought one of these to try and have since purchased 2 more.

Good for kittens, but not for adult cats
In 2021, I bought this box for a kitten. He really loved sitting on top and sleeping on the rug.Assembly: It is easy to put together.Accessories: The scooper is conveniently located, but completely useless for scooping. The cardboard scratcher is a nice touch, but crumbles quickly. The rug was the best part.Appearance and Sturdiness: It looks very nice and is sturdy enough for a cat. But only a cat. Fair warning: The lid is held in place by two white pegs and some grey clips on the inside. It will collapse inward if pressed on even a little as it does not support very much weight.Cleaning and Leaks: If you have small, tidy cats that never pee on the walls or scratch the litter up against the sides or dig and kick litter around, then this box might be okay. The box walls sit down inside the pan, which does prevent leaking, but the interior design is not smooth. Instead, it has all these rims and little panel edges that collect litter scatter and urine. The door too has an internal lip so when the cats kick litter or pee in that direction it can collect there too.So, as you can imagine, cleaning this box can be somewhat unpleasant if you have cats that tend to spray the walls or kick litter. You end up with either urine, litter, or a sticky combination of both sitting on the interior of the box. The cracks and crevices collect lots of debris so be careful when you disengage the top and bottom pieces as litter and urine can get underneath the lip.Overall, its okay. Very nice introductory box for kittens 2-8 months old. But just be aware that it is probably going to be too small for most adult cats. It can also be annoying to clean if you aren't prepared to hose it down or remove debris manually from the crevices.

Cats use it, unfortunately it is flimsy especially with the lid hinge which snapped off when a cat landed heavily on it.
