England's Dreaming: Jon Savage

No intro, no fun
I've bought three versions of this book; first edition, second updated edition and this version for Kindle. I bought this yesterday because it had a new introduction and I enjoy reading new perspectives on this era. One problem - the kindle edition doesn't have the new introduction. "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Goodnight."

Absolutely brilliant
I hated punk at the time (I was a bit young for it), but this book puts the entire era of punk into context. Brilliantly researched and written, a must read for anyone interested in music, art, politics, culture and fashion from this era.

Loads of info
This book was bought as a present. It has tiny writing and loads of pages. Good luck reading it all!

Buy it, read it, never forget it
One of the best books about pop music I have read. Well written, painstakingly detailed and with lots of new information on a turbulent but exciting time to be young and musically inclined.

The best book on punk!
The best book on punk! From the roots (Pub rock, NYC and Cleveland early '70 scenes, glam etc) to UK punk of the late '70. Excellent discography and images. Great reading!

Punk Heaven
I purchased this book for a friend who is deeply interested in all types of music and is very knowledgeable, not just from a collection point of view. He found the book an excellent addition to his library. However, unless you are a punk fan or a music history buff, this book would not reach out to you.

A classic of its genre
A very well written book. Mr Savage is meticulously thorough & his attention detail is faultless. Highly recommended for those that lived through the punk or those that wish to learn more about this turbulent & pivotal period of popular culture.
