DISAPPOINTED - not what we expected
Belgian Waffles are supposed to be thick, these were about 1" thick at best, and only 4" by 4" in size - with 2 cooking at a time. DISAPPOINTINGBUT the worst p[art, this Waffle Maker cooked so.o.o.o.o.o slow it took forever (over an hour) to have enough waffles to feed the guests we had (10 people) and that's with a 2nd waffle maker brought in to supplement. For use in feeding a family - won't work! For Belgian Waffles - not quite!Very Disappointing Waffle Maker,

Bought this for friends that live in Switzerland. They needed one that worked on European electric.

Still waiting for my Belgian Waffle
My wife and bought this waffle make for a waffle party here in Kabul. We told everyone we were going to have Belgian waffles with strawberries. We had to get our old Indian made waffle iron in order to feed our guests. The old Indian waffle maker could make four waffles to one poor quality waffle from the Alpina.I biggest issue is that the waffle maker does not get hot enough to cook the waffle to a golden brown. Some parts never cook. Clearly the heating elements are not placed throughout the entire cooking surface. Alpina must have tried to put one heating element per side and thought that would work. If the company would have taking this waffle maker home and tried it out they would have realized they need to redesign it. I had the waffle maker on the highest setting for temperature, but it still could not cook the waffle completely or evenly. Thank goodness we had our Geepas waffle maker. If you are a family and you have children, please don't buy this waffle maker. The children will be very disappointed waiting and waiting and waiting for a waffle which is not cooked.

Good Machine
It is a 220 volt device...if your voltage is lower, it will not work well...and some outlying places have poor voltage and so if you are below 220, it will not work too well. It will work in the US if you have a 220 receptacle...
