In addition to being just darn cute the kettle holds more than enough water to fill my 27 oz french press and completes the heat cycle quickly - about 3 minutes - which allows time to grind the coffee beans. I can squeeze a dime from a nickle so did a lot of comparison shopping both online and in store and honestly say the Smylls kettle - due to its size, heating speed, automatic shut off, and ceramic material - was reasonably priced - I am considering giving one or more as Christmas gifts. That the flowers turn from purple to pink at completion of the heat cycle is an added bonus.

I thought it was a good pot.
After just 3 months the pot colors quit changing, after 7 months it stopped stopped working. SighI love the pot and it works wonderful. It took a few times to get a metal taste out.After about a dozen uses the color quit going back to blue. I've had the pot about 6 months.

Cute, functional, and works quite well.
Works quickly, looks cute, holds enough water to make a couple cups of tea. Overall, a really nice little tea kettle with a fun design.

horrible quality, stopped working after a few weeks
This kettle looked lovely, but only worked for the first few weeks and then broke. Initially it would only turn on sometimes (after twisting on the base), and eventually wouldn't come off the base, and then stopped turning on altogether.

I was extremely pleased with both
I purchased two of the Smylls kettles. I was extremely pleased with both. However, the one I gave my daughter had a slight flaw. The lid was a little loose and could slip off when pouring. Other than that they were both great. She just has to be careful when pouring. Did not seem bad enough to return but the flaw was there.

Terrible Chemical Smell
1 star for pretty. 1 star for heating water, although it takes longer than expected.This tea kettle smelled terrible when I pulled it out of the package. I cleaned per instructions. Over the course of 2-3 days, the smell diminished, but didn't clear. Heated water smells and tastes funny. It's being returned today.
