Good price, reasonably accurate
I clamped this to the bed of a Bridgeport and compared the 24" iGaging unit to the Easson ES-8A DRO. After travel from end to end, the iGaging unit reported 0.32mm (0.0126") more motion. This is a little out of spec but acceptable for my application. And honestly, I don't know if the error was from the iGaging or Easson DRO.The first set of batteries lasted 12 hours, and it was off for most of that time. The batteries were new so I'm a bit concerned. I'll be running off an external power supply so again, acceptable for my application.I feel this is good accuracy for this price.Edited:After using the DRO for a few days I noticed it would skip 0.200" every now and then. The internet indicates this is somewhat common and due to cabling issues, ground loops and EMI. I disagree with this assertion, instead blame lack of power supply bypass capacitance in the position sensor. I added a 10uF cap (highlighted in red) inside the sensor box and the skipping went away. Secondarily, positional noise also went away.I suspect this will void your warranty. I let the manufacturer know, haven't heard back. The modification is fairly easy for anyone with good soldering skills. I chose 10uF because it's what I had around and suspect anything over 1uF would be plenty. Even 0.1uF would probably be enough. As for why I believe the problem is power supply bypassing and not cabling. There are 2 parts to the DRO, the position sensor and the display unit. The position sensor "knows" where it is whereas the display unit only reports the known position. About 30 time a second the position sensor uploads the position to the display unit. If the problem were noise I'd expect the skip of 0.200" to come and go. But when the position sensor loses 0.200", it loses it permanently. Something has happened in the position sensor and it lost 0.200".

Good value, Great price.
I like this DRO. I got it to easily fit a Smithy 1324.The readout is a little slow but easily keeps up with x or y power feeds. One of the sensors was faulty which was immediately replace by igaging who were very attentive to my issue. Would certainly recommend this product. BUT... I purchased mine from ANYTIME TOOL. BIG MISTAKE!! they were unresponsive to my requests to replacement and of no help to me at all. I will never use ANYTIME TOOL again for any purchase.

Defective scale
I was excited to try my new igaging scale and after unboxing and figuring out how to mount I finally got it on my lathe. Only to find that it does not work correctly. When I unboxed it I noticed a very small hole in the sensor part of the bar. About 1/16 inch hole. When I first saw it I just assumed it was normal. The hole doesn't go all the way through the aluminum bar. Just the sensor strip. And after mounting it I noticed that when the read head passes past the hole it freaks out. Jumps all over the place. If I park the read head on or near the hole the numbers will continue to climb even at a stand still. It is useless and unusable. Now I have to figure out how to try to get a replacement or refund.

No complaints here
For a hobbyist on a budget, this is one of the best options going. I don’t need a real 3 axis DRO and I would have a hard time mounting the scales in a way that didn’t get in the way, as my machine isn’t that big. Mounting these scales wasn’t difficult and they’re plenty accurate for what I normally do. Its also a lot easier to see than the dials on the handles, as my eyes are terrible and I have a tough time focusing on lines placed close together like that.My father, a very skilled machinist with 40+ years experience, liked them. He’s brutally honest and a bit picky when it comes to machine tooling. So a smile and “that’s pretty good” out of him is about as much of a compliment as you could hope for.

Excellent for a mini mill
Purchased this for a Mini mill. Install wasn't hard, but you do have to make custom mounts. Accuracy is equal to the dials on the hand wheels, but I haven't tested it against another measurement device. For a hobby mill this is more than sufficient. I read warnings about taking the readers off, so I made sure to leave them on, and keep metal shavings off of them. You will want to make sure they are somewhat protected from debris, and to clean them off every so often. I haven't experience any skipping as read on other reviews. The biggest hold back to buying these was the battery power source. They come with extra batteries, but the life so far has been pretty good. I have left them on for a few days a couple of times, along with using them, and so far I haven't had to replace batteries. If you were using them all day every day, they would probably die faster...but for a hobby mill, they are excellent. I would expect battery life to be similar to digital calipers. Will be looking forward to purchasing some for my mini lathe in the near future

Poor man's DRO
These are nice little DROs for the price. I used them for a 1948 Hardinge TM mill. They were easy to install and the scales are easily cut to match a shorter length when needed. Having to buy 3 AC adapters is not preferable but necessary unless you want to run through batteries. It would be nice if they shipped with a single AC adapter that would power all three devices.

Not reliable, I’m a hobby machinist of 12 yrs and do not recommend these DROs
I bought 3 of these dro’s for my X2 and they all worked fine for a few weeks. Now the only axis that works is the z, I’m not sure why the other two won’t work, they turn on but do not give a reading with the table when traveling. In fact they do not give any reading at all they do not leave 0mm and I have tried everything aside from taking them off and cleaning them and re attaching them which is not something I want to keep doing if this is due to debris or oil. I would not waste your time or money on these dro’s.

Good customer service.
The unit arrived timely and with no damage. I assembled and tested the DRO one day and it worked fine. Went out the next morning and the batteries were dead. I installed the second set (it came with 2 sets) it powered up but had erratic readings. By the next morning the second set of batteries were dead.I contacted the seller and was shipped a second DRO. While I haven’t placed the DRO in service, it has been mounted and tested and appears to preform as expected.
