The Weather is Still Important
I received this aerial yesterday and set it up. The placement is the most important bit, followed by the weather. I placed it in the middle of the window and received every Single Freeview Channel available. I flipped through them all, one by one, just to see how the reception looked. The video and audio were clear with no drop-outs or pixallation. So, I am quite happy. Today, I decided to neaten things up. The weather today is cloudy and stormy. Immediately, I see that my reception is not at all like it was yesterday. I've still got the most important channels, but it's nothing like yesterday. Also, the aerial likes to be in the exact center. Moving it a foot or so in either direction kills the signal. Also, just out of curiosity, I put the aerial outside on the window sill and everything immediately brightened up. Where we live is in a bit of a lower elevation compared to the hills around. The phones here also suffer from bad reception whether Andoird or Apple. Getting a decent phone signal is a continuing nuisance, so our reception for everything except Sky suffers. As a kid with the old TV antennas, I now recall how the weather could affect TV reception and that hasn't changed. But - I am happy with this purchase as I know how good it Can be. The extra length cable is really appreciated and it comes with an adapter in case the back of your TV takes an RCA input instead of the coax end that most TVs have. They even include a USB adapter. My TV has an RCA antenna input so thir including the adapter meant it was something I didn't have to go out and buy.

Not quite as good as a previous aerial but it works reasonably well
A flat Freeview aerial (it can also supposedly work with DAB radio) that appears actually to work as designed. Our specific issues are that we are not permitted to mount any form of visible outdoor aerial and there are a great many steel-framed skyscrapers between the transmitter and our location that may absorb or reflect the signal, two of them within 100 metres and erected just a few months ago. There are other UK cities and larger towns where similar circumstances and reception conditions exist. The "TV Aerial, 2019 Strongest Singals Indoor Freeview TV Ariel, GEEKERA Amplified Digital HDTV Arial 120 Mile Amplifier Aerial Booster 360°Directional 1080P 4K VHF UHF TV, with 17ft Coax Cable Stand" can either be used free-standing or affixed to a wall or surface using the provided plugs and screws as appropriate. It is described as working across the full angle spectrum of 360° but it was found that orientation of the flat face towards the major local transmitter improved reception and reduced noise. It includes a permanently connected signal booster that gets its power via a USB plug - a suitable power socket or adapter is required; in the event of signal overload should you live with about 3 miles or 5 Km of a transmitter, disconnecting the USB power cable will provide a non-amplified signal. The cable ends in an F-Type connector but there is a suitable co-axial adapter in the kit. The amplifier can be switched to local reception (within 35 miles from transmitter) or distant with a greater degree of boost. Presumably, 3G and 4G signals are filtered-out so as not to interfere with reception. The cable is sufficiently long for the aerial to be located to one side of a room where reception is of higher quality and greater strength while the TV is located elsewhere in the room. Having over many years purchased several flat aerials, all of which were claimed to be 'the best available and providing excellent reception' or similar phrases, there wasn't one that lived up to its claims; the best of the bunch sometimes provided a signal on some channels but not others while the remainder failed regardless of placement, orientation to the transmitter etc. This did work and reception quality appears to be clean and to a peak level on many Channel Groups but not all; some are considerably worse. What it failed to achieve was to reinstate some 50-plus channels that were previously received but lost on completion of the two nearby skyscrapers; strangely, they continue to be received in one upstairs bedroom, just not elsewhere in the home. It may perform better in areas other than London.

It didn't work properly
Even though it's very easy to install and it has a signal booster, it failed to pick up basic channels like BBc or ITV. I placed the antenna high up and near a window as it was recommended. A cheaper similar antenna worked perfectly in the same spot so I know it was the device, not the location.

Great little product
I needed an amplified indoor aerial to replace a broken "One For All" unit. We live approximately 12 miles from the nearest transmitter and have always needed an amplified indoor aerial for our bedroom TV. I saw the good reviews and decided to give it a go. It's very small and compact and will fit in a very small space. Testing the unit out, I connected up the amplifier power lead to a USB wall plug and found that I got just as strong a signal on the low power setting as on the high. Then, just out of curiosity, I disconnected the power and to my great surprise found that I was still getting around 80% signal - what a result. Let me just say something - the amplified aerial I previously had would only give a usable signal when the adjustable gain was turned up to max, and even then it could be temperamental and require fiddling with the adjustable "loop". This new unit performs better with no powered amplification at all! I'm not sure how, I guess it's just a bit better laid out inside. The odd thing is that after tidying all the cables away and moving the unit to the back of the shelf (further away from any windows) the signal went up to 100% :)) The only minor niggle for me was that after screwing on the F-type to Co-ax adapter (supplied), the overall connector length meant that it was a very tight fit due to the geometry of the television's plastic case. I've ordered a 90-degree adapter for under £3 which will avoid putting strain on the lead. I can't overstate how impressed I am with this aerial, and how angry I am that I put up with the inferior One for All predecessor.
