Good buy
Once you get it all hooked up, you now own it, so that comes off cable bill, no problems with it

died a week or so ago
I went to the restroom one day when I was using it. I returned in a minute and it had stopped working completely. I'm using a Motorola unit that looks similar, just smaller. I didn't have the ARRIS for very long, but it worked perfectly right up till it didn't work at all.

Highly recommended. Never had a problem
I never had a problem with mine. I purchased it brand new 8 years ago for under $55.00 USD. I am not sure why a used one is being sold for 65.00 when the original price on a new one was less than that.

The wifi signal is very weak!
I installed this router/modem combo device and the only thing I have to say that the Wifi Signal is very very weak! The max speed for this router is 300 Mbps, so then we called optimum online to subscribe/provide the the router/modem with the max of 300 Mbps allowed by the device of 300 Mbps with the max speed allowed by the device which is 300mbps. Then I decided to test the speed, distanced etc., but I noticed that the device WIFI signal was a very very weak and not only that! Even if I was very up close(1-5 feet max) to the device you would get about 120 Mbps-170 Mbps max! Even though we was like in front to 5 feet max we did not get the anything close to the 300 Mbps. Then from 10-20 feet we was getting a even worst signal that was barely connecting to anything but when the signal connect it would disconnect right away with a very slow speed of 5 Mbps - 30 Mbps Max!We ended up purchasing the 3 device tower TP-Link S4 Deco Mesh system. Let me tell you that a soon we connected the first tower via Ethernet from 30 feet I was getting 290 Mbps download speed with the mesh system. So we just went ahead and installed the remaining 2 TP-Link deco mesh system to the 1st and second floor! The speed on the first floor dropped to about 170 Mbps and the 3rd floor dropped to 80 Mbps. But with the TP-Link S4 Deco system the signal is very strong on every floor. Had I known that the device wifi signal was useless/crappy, I would of just purchased a device that it’s only a cable modem because at the end we ended up purchasing a mesh system that would provide the stable/strong/consistent speed and signal. So in other words if your planning to connect and use the Wifi a lot, make sure that you get your self a good router or mesh system so that you can enjoy and avoid the wifi signal problem that this device has!But if you are planing to use it via the Ethernet connection I would just get another that the specs is better for the same price is this one..Or better yet! Don’t buy this stay away because this router/cablem is shitty!Thank You and……I hope that it helps!

Started slowing down..
This router is a 801.11n which is rated as having Wi-Fi speeds up to 300 Mbps per band - a router with 801.11ac has a wifi speed that is up to three times faster. I bought an earlier version of this router in 2014 - starting in about 2020 is needed restarts 1-3 times during the day because of slowing down of speeds. Guess it got old.The ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 is an 801.11ac.

Having a hard time supporting multiple products
I bought this product to save money on the modem rental charges through my provider. The modem is having a difficult time keeping up with an active family: iPads, ring security, Rokus, computers, phones. I purchased an extender to see if I could help make it stronger and it has not helped. I would not recommend this product if you are going to have multiple users on it as I just don’t feel it is strong enough to support a busy household. My family is constantly complaining to me that they are losing the Wi-Fi connection. I am not sure what my next step will be if I will replace this with a stronger model or pay the modem rental charge from the service provider.
