Bandai Hobby - HGUC - 1/144 HGUC ? Gundam

I got this HG because I personally love the design of the Turn A Gundam. It’s designed by Syd Mead. He was the one who did the technical design in Alien, Tron, and Blade Runner. He designed the Tron Light Cycles and the Blade Runner Spinners for example. This gives the Gundam a unique look that has caused some to love it and some to hate it.Aesthetically, the model kit looks great and captures the look of the Turn A. It’s tall for an HG. There are some small color correction stickers for some parts of the mobile suit and weapon but they don’t look bad. The surface detail is great and notable for HG. The design of the panel lines is faithful to the original design. Very Tron-like. You will need to panel line this kit for it to look the best though. It’s not hard to rub on some gray and black sharpie into the areas and wipe off with your thumb the excess. The design of the head looks great with the Spartan-like helmet look instead of the typical Samurai helmet look. Of course the V-fin Blade Antennas have been moved from the forehead to the faceplate and resembles a mustache.The solidity of the kit is good so far and the articulation is pretty much everything you need for general poses. In terms of accessories and extras, you get a couple of unique beam saber handles that can be stored in racks that you can choose to attach to the back of the shoulders. Beams included. You also get alternate shoulder racks that can store the included beam rifle and shield as well as the beam saber handles. The shield has great color separation. The beam rifle has an extra extended stock piece with a handle you can choose to use. Otherwise you can use the top handle or fold out handle. You also get alternate chest and back plates.On my kit I equipped it with a weapon I bought from a 30MM Weapons Pack that resembles a Gundam Hammer with a sickle on the other end. I think this suits the Turn A the best as the Gundam Hammer is one of the weapons it used in the anime. I also used many leftover decals I had laying around. I think this is a highly recommended model kit if you’re a fan of the Turn A. The MG is extremely expensive currently so I went with this. It would be nice if they released an RG of this design.

Great model, not too sticker heavy and lots of detail that can be brought out with panel lining.

this one is a great simple beginner kit or one that a seasoned gunpla vet can enjoy. lots of pose ability and a unique striking look that will stand out on display. i had a great time doing some custom work to this one as well and may even get a second one someday.Cons - Stickers are not great on this, i would recommend using gundam markers for the required areas.
