Forever The Silent Wife: A Gripping, Emotional Page-Turner with a Twist That Will Take Your Breath Away

Another good read

I read this book because someone told me that they had read it and enjoyed it and I trusted their opinion. However I was leery to read it because I was afraid it was going to be a book about physical abuse and I was worried it might be too tough to read. I was pleasantly surprised to find that although there are many difficulties for the characters, it was a well-written study about marriage and relationships and the truly complex world of communicating and understanding each other from within our worlds! Lara and Maggie each speak in their own voice and allow us to see that you never know what is going on inside - whether it’s inside a marriage, inside someone’s head, or inside the house next door. I found myself drawn to the story and pleased that it didn’t take some of the plot turns I feared were coming. The Silent Wife posed some interesting scenarios and gave plausible responses and reactions to them. It was a good summer read!

The characters were interesting and the story was sad in parts but the ending was happy. I wouldn’t describe as a page turner or a thriller though.
