Pretty good movie for it's time
For when this film came out it was a good love story. This movie tries to take the viewers to the heart of love, what it means to let go, and believing in something bigger than who people are banging. Some people will not get the message of this movie, they will critique this film as being boring or badly acted but its the story that I appreciate and a message people need to fight for love even if it means losing it all. Love isn't about taking selfish pleasure from someone that could potentially hurt them or trying to bend a situation to your will, its about supporting the person you love in their dreams and becoming a better person to the best of their capabilities. Older films like this actually do have a message that people may think its corney but in the end is truth in what the story is conveying, whether its in a dystopian world or the modern world where people are just following the same routine because they have no idea how to live differently. I would even go so far as to suggest that anyone who can't appreciate or understand the message and story of this movie, I would have to question what they know about love if they have the ability to rationalize deep emotions. On another note, Cuba is beautiful lol

Watched in 2018- LOVED! Relevant, surprising - definitely a must-see for dystopian lovers!
I thought I was getting just another apocalypse movie. I was shocked! The storyline was really different, though still within the dystopian realm. And more relevant than ever - though it hasn’t gotten to the point today where our government has so obviously and overtly got us under their thumb (for whatever the reason, fill in the blank). Yet.....That said — I love movies with a cause. Heroes and heroines you can root for. And on the flip side, enemies of any stripe to be against. There are moments of calm, interspersed with action, and times where you are filled with anticipation, just plain shock, and sadness. And the end? I’m not going to give it away. But I definitely wasn’t expecting it. And I for sure wasn’t expecting to cry my eyes out over this movie either. The actors were fantastic! (Especially the older actress who played the doctor, I feel terrible that I cannot recall her name. Loved her!) A sweet little find.A fabulous Sunday afternoon movie.

This was ok....
Ok, let's make a movie about Moira Kelly's tits. Now all the guys are clicking play and watching this movie. I was sitting through the whole movie thinking, I know her, I know her from somewhere, I really liked her in something... I looked her up on Google/Wikipedia and the first thing it says is that she is best known for her role in "The Cutting Edge". I was like, riiiighttt, that's where I know her from. And even though I probably seriously wanted to see her tits 25 years ago, it just got a bit boring in this movie. This was alright I guess.... and I guess there was a story somewhere in here. It was more about relationships, love, loss, letting other down, jealousy, ego, etc.. oh, and Moira Kelly's tits. Now, ' The Cutting Edge ', whooollee different story. If you haven't seen it, go, now, watch it....And I usually love Cuba Gooding Jr. in everything he plays in, this, not so much.... It was like watching a bunch of poor people trying to survive on the streets, and the rich and politician's taking advantage of everyone... same ole same ole I guess.

Not as good as I remembered. BETTER.
One of Cuba Gooding Jr.'s most memorable performances to the few of us who've had the luck to see this movie. I was just a kid when it first aired, but I never forgot about the girl named Blue who loved a man enough to want to die for him... a man who was trying to open the eyes of the world, even though he himself was doomed and knew it.This movie is so very underrated that I had to run a search for female characters named Blue to find it. I am extremely glad to have been able to track it down and purchase it, as viewing it as an adult has been an entirely different experience. I had very strange parents that let me watch R rated films from a very young age, so there were many things lost on me that first time, but I understood the plight, the fear, and the love... and what kept it alive in my mind for over a decade was the love.Yes, it's an apocalyptic storyline, but that undercurrent of hope is what binds you to it and carries you through even the most heart-wrenching moments. This movie changed my life. Twice.

Fall in line. The State knows what's best.
If you're over 45 years old, you'll appreciate the implications of a death-sentence STD. Also, you may appreciate the solidarity of, and, hopefully, the power of individuals involved in The People vs, The State, as well as the desire to rise above the challenge of The People suck, too. This is a fine example of individuals, doing the right thing. Feel-good story, of 1993. 24 years ago, is a long time, but Truth, and the value of being able to recognize what's right, is enduring. There's a brief shot of the Twin Towers, pre-2001, too.If you're 20-something and live in, or near, a metropolis, it's probably just an interracial love story, with some other crap you see every day.Peace.

Interesting parallel/prediction to USA 2020
The foundational plot is so similar to what we are experiencing in the US in "Spring" of 2020 that is uncanny. It's almost a prophecy come true. Overall, the movie is more about romantic drama than science fiction. It's a good movie and somewhat startling as to how it parallels current events, but I'm glad I did spend any money to watch it.

Overall Good Story That Goes Downhill
This started out with a quite interesting premise of a disease-ridden future America ruled by fear and an iron-fisted government. It reminds one of stories coming out of communist and socialist governments, and how easily our own country can be reduced to a similar fate if government were to be in control of the healthcare of the nation. However, an interesting story quickly devolves into a love story that dominates the storyline. I was surprised that the beginning was as good as it was, but was a bit disappointed in the direction that they story took with the lead characters. Overall, I enjoyed this movie more than I thought that I would.

Pas mal...
La maladie fait effectivement pensé au SIDA. Un film assez sombre. Les acteurs sont intéressant à regarder. Je trouve personnellement la fin un peu décevante...
