Purchased this to swap out sparkplugs on my 2002 BMW E46 with the M54B30 engine, and it performed the job effortlessly. The magnet retains the spark plug with just enough force to allow you to hand thread it, but weak enough that you can retract it from the socket with minimal effort.

Two things are great about this socket: 1) the fact that it is magnetic instead of a rubber-lined socket like my old one means that the socket more easily releases from the spark plug when you want it to without sticking, and 2) the integrated extension means no more socket coming off the extension while it is way down inside the deep recesses of your modern engine. Worked great for 5 of the 6 plugs on my Nissan V6, although to be fair that 6th plug needed a whole lot of contortions and some universal socket joints because the extension on this socket was too long to make the turn. So the old rubber socket still came in handy, but I plan on replacing that with a magnetic one soon. I have no reason to think that this socket won't last a long time.

This helped me replace spark plugs in a vw jetta 2.5l. The magnetic end worked great and at no point did I feel like it would have dropped the spark plug into the engine bay. Seems to be of decent quality.

The socket does sit at an angle as others have noted but for me it wasn't an issue. The magnet was very strong and held the plugs without an issue. There is also a plastic sleeve inside to protect the ceramic area. After having used it, for my specific engine, I would probably have preferred a shorter length but I am happy to have the 11" for potential versatility. It seems very well made and I would definitely recommend it, especially for the price. For me this was a much better option than a separate spark plug socket and extension bar.
