It works very well - but it is a bit slow. Not super slow - but for this price I rather like to have an instant read thermometer showing me the temperature... instantly.Also: changing it from Fahrenheit to Centigrade is awkward to say the least (in the battery area).Overall nice.

Finally, an easy to use/read device that has ended my days of ruining the look of meat and fish by slicing into it (repeatedly) to see if it's cooked in the middle or running the risk of guessing and therefore dicing with the risk of gastroentestinal issues.

So easy to use and came just in time to check the temperature of my Greek style leg of lamb.Why have I messed around for years with old guage style meat thermometers when I could have bought one of these??

This works at least as as well as my more expensive one that was falling apart after several years. The features are excellent, including the reverse display for lefties (I'm one of those) and the feature to show the maximum temperature so you probe first and can read after the oven door is closed. Also, it is magnetized, so we keep in on the toaster!The only complaint is the way you change from F° to C°. You need to remove the battery and then push the left-most of 4 tiny pins up or down. You need to do that without ANY coherent instructions. Our house has F° cooks and C° cooks. And the way to make the change was discovered more or less by accident.Would definitely buy again. Well worht the $$.

Wish I bought this sooner. Came with a battery inserted. I order the wasabi green colour. The thermometer automatically turns on once you swing out the probe from the notch in the handle. The digital display is large and easy to read. The backlight feature works well when needed. The thermometer gives me an instant reading in a couple seconds at most. Best item I've bought recently. Now I feel more confident in not getting food poisoning from undercooked food or overcooking food to the point it gets dry.

My wife has insisted that we use the same old bi metal thermometer for a least a decade ( if not more) well after 10 yrs or so I decided to put my foot down and pull the trigger on a new digital unit. What a game changer, instant read temps, backlit, dual scales imp/metric, auto off, wow. Who knew that cooking could be so easy and enjoyable with the right tools at your fingertips.... sounds a little over the top, well maybe a little wordy but this is seriously a great thermometer.
