Bought this for my husband. It's great quality for the price. It's become his every day pipe.

I've made my own tobacco pipes for nearly a decade, but only been able to work with black cherry. I wanted to try a traditional briar pipe, and the vulcanite stem was cause for impulse buy if I'm being honest. I must say that I can feel the years of craftsmanship and fine-tuning in play, and I'm very happy with my purchase, even though I have many tobacco pipes that work well. My one gripe would be that my pipe was shipped without extra balsa filters, the one inside the pipe was the only one to be found. Now I have to buy what was supposed to be included in the box, but no big deal.

So far I am very pleased with this pipe. The craftmanship is exceptional and the first smoke was so easy and comforting. You will not go wrong with this brand at all. 5 STARS

I can't agree with the many laudatory reviews. Just received this pipe and smoked it three times. The first time with the included balsa filter kept me puffing too hard to draw. Second time without it the bowl burned my hand. Third time after inserting the adapter was a charm. But my lesser priced unfiltered pipes are just as good.

The Savinelle pipe I received looked and felt like a very high quality item. Unfortunately, I wanted the black stem pipe shown in the listing, but recieved a lucite stem pipe. Had I received the correct item I would have been very pleased with my purchase. Instead, I've returned the item.
