Too bright on sleepy eyes; but has a nice gentle alarm that starts quiet/slow beeping that gradually gets louder and more rapid.
First off, love lime green. This thing is adorable. That said- I wish they had a lighting option to make this a bit more dim. Not only would it help conserve battery life but it would be a bit easier on sleepy eyes. (I wake up many times a night from bad sleep and got this to keep tabs on the times I was waking and well... being in the dark and then hitting the button on the top to light it up is a bit painful. It is really REALLY bright and could benefit from a lower light setting as an option.)Other than the light being super bright it is great- I like the silicone case a lot. I have tactile numbness and can't really feel around for things and identify them well in the dark so the texture makes it sticks out. Being silicone it is also very easy to grip (wont slip out of my hand) when I pull to me since I have really bad vision and (for obvious reasons) never wear my glasses while I sleep. The buttons on the back to set the clock are pretty easily identified even without a manual. I also really like the gradual alarm that isn't full on ear-rape from the start. It starts off with quiet, slow beeping that gradually gets louder and more rapid so those who are woken by quiet things won't need to have a 'bad morning start' by a standard alarm that starts off loud and annoying. The slow gradual beeping is probably my favorite part of this clock.

Fun, cute, colorful, great clock
I read through a lot of reviews looking for alarm clocks for my three boys to start getting themselves out of bed and ready for school. These clocks are great. Compact size but not too small that the kids can lose them behind a bed. Fun colors. I like that the main screen shows the time very large and the date and alarm smaller and below. It is also easy to tell from the front that the alarm is 'ON' bcz a little bell symbol displays above the time. The clock has a rubbery shell around it. This can be removed if desired. Color underneath matched silicon-like cover. We put velcro on the bottom of one so it could sit on a loft post. The velcro would not stick to the shell so we removed it. My kids are light sensitive when trying to sleep so I LOVE that the display does not back light all night long. You can tap the top to see the time and the light will shut off by itself. I like that these are battery operated. Outlets are at a premium in teenager's rooms. Easy to set. They are not terrible loud or obnoxious. For me this is both good and bad. My older sons share a room and must get up at different times. The eldest can wake up first and he does not wake his brother. Unfortunately, son#2 sleeps right through brother's alarm AND his own. I'm going to have to get him something obnoxious.

So handy, we have two!
This clock is so easy and handy to use that, a year later, we got one for another family member. Two things that make it handy are:(1) It uses batteries, so that it can be put anywhere and carried around.(2) It's extremely intuitive as to how to set it up. The back buttons are labeled. There's a lever to set the alarm time, current time, and date. You just put that where you want it (or set it on "lock" if you're not setting something) and then use the clearly labeled buttons to set the time. There are also icons on the front that tell you when the alarm is on, and the time the alarm is set to!A couple of little things that I don't like . . . first, the read-out is tough to see from some angles. You have to really look at it directly rather than from the sides. Also, after repeated use my older clock's ink/text on the back is starting to wear off. However, these are just little quibbles . . . I'm a big fan of the clock!

i have bought more than 100 of these
i give them to the school near me. i think the battery holder spring is too tight. i use a wire cutter to cut off the first1 1/2 coils of the spring contacts. Purple has the advantage of having the dimmest backlight so it isn't blinding ina dark room , the other colors double as a flashlight. i cover most of the tweeter hole with black tape for a mildchirp on the ones i give away. It's loud enough to wake me with the 3 tweeter holes all covered.

Great design, first one had annoying defect, replaced, now OK.
*** 5/12/13 update: am knocking off 1 more star (4==>3) because my clock consistently loses 5 seconds per day, 2.5 minutes per month. easy to correct the time forward. If it gained time, it would be harder to correct the time backward. So knocking off only 1 star. Anyway i think that for about $1 extra cost to build it, they could have designed this clock to keep time within a few seconds per month. I still like this clock, for the reasons originally listed below in the original review. 5/12/13 update ***original review 2/24/13: Had to knock off 1 star because first one had alarm on/off switch slightly off-center so that could not reliably disable the alarm, annoying. Amazon quickly sent a replacement (kudos to Amazon), which works fine all around. Design of this clock is great as a bedside battery-powered clock, simple, rugged, easy to read, easy to set/operate, aesthetically pleasing. I like that it has 2 AA batteries, not just 1 AA, instead of tiny batteries like some, so hopefully I won't be replacing them very often. Really great for the price...in that aspect easily 5 stars. Now let's see how long it lasts......

Good little clock
I really like this clock. It's small, it's cute, it's VERY green, and it works well. My only complaints are that 1.) it doesn't come with batteries; and 2.) the digits are clearest and easiest to read when you're looking down at it from about a 45 degree angle. Yes, you can read it straight on, but it's harder to read. I really appreciate that there's no backlight unless you hit the 'snooze' button, because I can keep it right by my bed without having a light shining in my face all night.
