Yes, it sure is! As a matter of fact the high quality polypropylene plastic is mixed with natural clay, giving it an even closer relationship to the Korean Onggi earthenware jars traditionally used for Kimchi. I love the two we purchased, and have no doubts they will last for a LONG time. If you like to make your own Kimchi, these are fantastic and you won't be disappointed!
