A NEW DAY

My kids are older teens now, but when Brad Meltzer said he was doing this book, I knew it was going to be good. I pre-ordered, and I am not disappointed! It's everything I hoped it would be, and more. A very sweet, relevant story told in a way both accessible to small children and delightful to all ages.I would totally recommend this as a gift for anyone with babies, children, or grandchildren... as a donation to any church, school, or community library... and even as a gift to a co-worker whose work ethic is above and beyond.Well done, Brad. All your practice with the non-fiction children's books and your fantastic fiction novel skills came together to make an entertaining story with a truly wonderful message. Next time I'm getting worn out and just want to quit the world, I'll re-read this and remember that kindness and gratitude make everything better. Especially because I know a secret: expressing thankfulness is just as rejuvenating as receiving it!

I thought this book was absolutely adorable and so clever however, my 4 1/2 year old did not seem to agree :( Maybe an older kid would appreciate it more!

Brad Meltzer delivers again with a really fun and engaging story! This is not his usual "history for kids" but he delivers a wonderful message as he typically does. Illustrator Dan Santat adds to the story with his really clever illustrations of the days of the week.This book is great for kids of all ages whether they can read it themselves or if someone will read it to them.

This is the cutest book ever!I love the illustrations and what this author is trying to convey in this book!!Wonderful. Delightful. Full of colorful inspiration. Funny. Cute. Just everything kids and adults will love!!!

As soon as I took the book out he said he had already heard it at school, he enjoyed it again and recited the days of the week with ease in no small part I'd imagine as a result of this book! Still not sure why the Cats didn't have a voice however...:D
