Please note that this comes in *single sheets* which cost the same as packs of several sheets of the thin stuff. I was honestly hoping to find such a thing with something of a volume discount. Nope.That said, I was SO glad to finally find these! I'm a fiber artist and use wool felt as a sort of base--for example, I "collage" on top of it by adding layers of different fabrics. Almost all wool felt is only 1.5 mm thick, which means it's really floppy, just like the polyester felt found in stores (often in kiddie crafts). This just doesn't work if you're doing something like wanting to needle felt on top of it.The closest analogy I can think of to imagine a sheet of really thin cardboard vs. an ordinary sheet of paper--the thicker cardboard can be held in your hand without flopping over or getting wrinkled easily. Well, that's how 1.5 works.On the other hand, this is 3mm and it makes a HUGE difference both in terms of being easier to work with/on and being substantially resistant to wrinkling. My only complaint is that it's *considerably" more expensive than the thin stuff; you can find packs of ten thin ones for only a little more than this brand's single sheet.I got both black and purple. The purple did not disappoint! Really rich color. Will keep buying this!!

This felt is thick and works well for what I needed. It is soft and pliable.

this is very thick and hard to work with made me break out in a rash and very itchy not happy and small not worth the money spent

I bought this wool in seven colors because it is difficult to find. It is carried in the well known craft and hobby stores, but is usually sold out quickly. It is great as a backing for wool ornaments, which I make every year for Christmas.
