Q: What's the least amount of soap needed to be able to cut bars of soap? I still have another little mold to fill

Fill a 4 cup measuring cup with water. That should be 48 ozs. Most bar molds are 4 ozs. A pound of soap base makes 4 -4 oz. bars. So 48 ozs. of soap base will make 12 bars of soap. When you cut the bars of soap they should be at least 1 1/2 " wide. I hope this helps you with your answer ??

I get 8 that are a little bit over 1 inch

Q: Does this hold 42 oz?

Flat top it holds two pounds, or 32 oz. However it could easily hold a high top soap to make 2.5 or 3 pounds. I've done it before.

Q: Can I use this for epoxy?

I don’t see why not is silicone. I would use it for a resin project
