I had a less than satisfying experience with a similar Amazon purchased product. Returned it (charges promptly refunded) and hoped for better with this hose. I’m pleased AFTER completing a DIY modification. Added a soldered-in-place Schrader male valve assembly to this hose’s ‘open’ / valveless end. Opposite end is fitted (out of its packaging) with a Schrader female valve that can be screwed onto a remotely located spare tire. My use for this hose is for pressurizing / depressurizing a remotely located RV water line (air pressure operated) ‘accumulator’ tank.

The purpose I bought this for is to replace the old leaky hose on my 35 year old MDI/Meidai bicycle floor pump that I use to manually inflate tires with Schrader valve fillers. This new hose has standard Schrader valve threads on both ends; one end has male and the other has female. I cut off the male threaded end which I did not need,in order to connect it to the barbed hose connector on the bicycle pump. The inside diameter of this new hose is 1/4", exactly what I needed and exactly like the old hose it's replacing. This hose does not seem to specify exactly what material it is made of, but my educated guess is that it is a synthetic rubberized plastic that is resistant to oil and grease. The walls of the hose do not have any visible reinforcement braids or fibers; it is perfectly smooth and the walls are very thick. The fittings are brass and well machined; I tested them by first connecting them to each other to see if they screw on easily and then tested the female end to the Schrader valve threads on my filler adapter. In both cases it threaded easily. When I tested to see if the hose would inflate my tires, it held the pressure and inflated my tires. without any problem at all. At $5.60, the price for this hose was a fantastic deal compared to to buying some kind of kit or all the individual components separately. I'm thrilled to have been able to repair my old bicycle pump so inexpensively.
