Classical Baby: The Music Show (DVD)

I had boy/girl twins in January of 2012. When the babies were as young as 3 months old, we began searching for videos that our babies would enjoy and ran across this series on HBO. Somewhat similar to the concept of Baby Einstein or Baby Mozart, these captured our babies' attention far longer and they still watch these nightly at 18 months old. Once the opening intro song starts, both babies would stop whatever they were doing and cuddle up with us to watch their favorite little baby conductor! Worried that we might accidentally erase these from our DVR cable box, I got online and ordered them right away. This is one of my TOP FIVE favorite things that I have purchased for the babies. Each time we turn it on to calm a crying child or prepare for bed, we are amazed and how much they still love, enjoy and are still very interested in this video after seeing it at least 200 times.....not exaggerating...probably closer to 300 times!I have to say that my babies absolutely love this video along with the Classical Baby Art and Classical Baby Dance videos. The music in all three videos is, well, classical and the videos that play along are both colorful and entertaining. I can't imagine what our life would be like had we not found these and would highly recommend them to others in hopes that their babies love them as much as mine have and still do!

I bought this product for my four year old son. He has Autism and it is hard to get him to relax most of the time. We have tried the Baby Einstein movies, and he just sits and screams until I turn them off. The package came well wrapped, and arrived earlier than expected. When I opened it, my son went straight for the doll. He loved it, so I put the movie on. He was absolutely memorized, he sat still on the couch and watched the entire movie while holding the doll. I have had the movie for a few weeks now, and he still loves it. We watch it every day, and he has even started to dance and laugh at his favorite parts! This video is not like the Baby Einstein videos that show real children playing on the playground and boring stuff like that. This video has nice simple little animations that are perfectly choreographed to the beautiful classical and opera music. It has gotten to a point in my house that if I just start to play the songs, my son comes running to see his show! This is a definite hit for any child, and I would especially recommend it to a parent of a child with autism. All of the visuals, and beautiful music really sit well with my son.:)

I bought this for my one year old granddaughter, in hopes of helping her to go to sleep at night. She is extremely arousable, and alerts to the slightest movement or sound, and must be held to go to sleep, for naps or bedtime. Her parents stashed it away, and never opened it until I went for an extended visit. I dug the DVDs out from their hiding places, popped The Music Show into the DVD player, and the second the video began she was transfixed, standing and watching the entire video from beginning to end, and "sang" along with the music. Her parents did not believe it until they saw her response for themselves. Now, a year and a half later, they play this DVD for her every night, she claps after each song, and is still transfixed for the entire performance. She is enrolled in a Kinder Music class. Whether it helped her sleep remains questionable. However, it became a nightly ritual before bed to watch this DVD, and hopefully will begin a lifelong interest in music.

My two year grandson has watched this dvr many times. He gets a charge out of the baby conductor, the animals, and his favorite Mozart as well as others being played. He loves the music and the graphics are fun. The music is great. He giggles everytime. I think it is a great way to introduce music into little kids life. I wasn’t sure at first if I should order because he watches And listens To symphonies On my ipad. He loves to watch violinists and identify all the instruments. But he chuckles and loves the music. The animals remind him of the Poppy series book . He loves the opera singing cow. I would recommend !

We love all the Classical Baby videos. We use the art and music videos for quiet times (snack or pre-nap) and the dance video is great for moving around on days when the weather keeps us indoors. The cartoons are engaging and pretty, the music is lovely, and my son loves every single one. I like that each segment is short enough to keep him engaged, but long enough that it doesn't feel rapid-fire the way some other kids' videos do. We got our first DVD when he was about a year old; he is now three and still regularly watches all of them. I really disliked the Baby Einstein video a friend of ours had (it seemed like free-association images with synthesized music- no story or logic to the process at all). But each song here tells a distinct story. I cannot recommend this series highly enough, and only wish there were more!

My daughter at 6 months old LOVED watching Transiberian Orchestra on DVD. It kept her attention for a good straight 15 minutes. (which was great at such a young age) However, this Classical Baby DVD she didn't care for. Then when she was almost 3 she found the DVD on the shelf and asked to watch it so I let her. She totally loved it! She especially loved the song "the Rectangles" which is from Westside story. She asked to play it over and over and she would dance like no one was watching! Then one day the commericial from Westside Story Broadway play came on and she recognized the song from it. She was so excited.It's so nice to see her appreciating this music. She also likes the dancing one too. The only thing I don't like is that they change the music a little. I wish it was more like the original music.

She love love loves this DVD. She learnt how to say "baby" for that, she can say "baby" to me when she wants me to play the video.

My 2.5 yr old enjoys this video, and I feel less guilty about him watching this because it has classical music and calm and friendly animation.

My niece seems to like the DVD (this is the first time she's been here since it was delivered). Especially "Baby Hands".I just wish it were longer (It's 30 minutes) so I didn't have to start it up again so soon.My mom is with the baby right now and doesn't know how to work my blu ray player so it just means I have to go in every 30 minutes to hit play. >_>

My kids and I really like the DVD. It is almost an introduction to classical music. My son is all happy to find back the tunes from Baby Einstein. Wonderful music selcection with nice little comics. We only wish the tracks would be a bit longer ...
