The best I could achieve
I was not compensated in any way for this review (like most of the others so far).I've experimented with different amounts of coffee, different grinds, different ways of pouring the water over. None have produced a cup of coffee that I would choose over the corner gas station's.The best I could achieve, was to pour very slowly (VERY slowly) to prevent the grounds from rising in the cone, and then only make 3 ounces. This achieved a decent coffee but is clearly not enough and takes way too much time.I made the mistake of ordering 5 of these based on the other reviews. One for me and gifts for friends. I don't even want to give a friend one the extras.

I love coffee -- and this makes the best tasting coffee I've ever had
This product works so well -- the coffee tastes so good that I gave away my Keurig! This makes better tasting coffee than my drip coffee maker, my French Press, or my Keurig.

Easy pour-over coffee, with or without a paper filter. Drip speed is dependent on how much water you pour in.
I've been drinking pour-over coffee for years now. I have been using my trusty Melitta Ready-Set-Joe plastic pour-over coffee filter and absolutely love it. I've also been able to try out a few different pour-over cones, such as collapsible silicone ones and other metal ones. This particular pour over coffee filter does a good job of keeping out coffee sediment and is effective with a paper filter as well. The bundle comes with a metal cone, a metal stand and a sample bag of coffee. The bundle looks beautiful and almost industrial and would fit in a modern-looking kitchen. The cone has a lip at the top for your thumb to grasp onto, which is convenient. I initially thought that this lip would prevent you from using the filter in a Chemex setup, but I believe the top lip would rest comfortable on top of the Chemex glass. The cone has two layers - one with a course sized holes and one with a fine metal mesh. The mesh seems to do a good job of keeping out most coffee sediment, but as a metal mesh, don't expect it to filter out sediment as well as paper. The metal mesh also probably lets through the coffee's oils, which gives it the coffee more flavor, but probably lets through the additional cholesterol as well. You can, however, choose to use a paper filter in this and treat it much like a pour over cone instead of a filter. The stand is well-made, with the bottom plate containing concentric circular ridges to prevent it from sliding off a mug. Different people have different opinions on coffee and the sample bag is mostly filled with air, so there's not much value to going into a review of the sample coffee. There were two downsides to it. The tip of the cone is a solid metal cap. This means coffee pools in this little cap and never fully drains out. Your coffee grounds will never fully drain out. This isn't a big deal and you probably can't tell if you use grounds directly in the filter instead of using paper filters. The second downside is that coffee drips out fast. In fact, one can hardly call it a drip at that point. This is due to all the holes throughout the walls of the filter, rather than a single hole at the bottom of a Melitta Read Set Joe. The more water you pour in at once, the more holes there are to drain out that water. If you're looking for a slower drip, you have to pour in less water or a continuous stream.Overall, I think this pour over coffee filter looks great and does exactly as it claims. It's only real downside is the fast draining of the coffee. Nonetheless, my morning coffee tasted excellent.Of note, I received this product for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. I liked the idea of a super simple and easy to ...
This was my first time using this kind of coffee maker, I usually use a drip or french press and wondered how this would go. I liked the idea of a super simple and easy to use coffee maker. I used it to make coffee and loose leaf tea a few times since receiving it in the mail almost a week ago and have found it to be super fast and easy to use and clean up. I think it will be great on trips to and will find out this weekend. I used my electric kettle to heat water to use with it and the microwave as well. The sample coffee it came with I have not gotten to try so i'm sorry I can't review that for you all. I am pretty happy with this coffee maker and it makes a great fresh tasting coffee and no bitterness which I love.I also like that I can shoose the cup size and it works pretty well with each cup I tried. It looks like it just might replace my other coffee makers since I only used the french press once and the drip didn't see the light of day this week. I love that it is sturdy metal and hasn't rusted or bent or anything. Even my husband who likes his keurig enjoyed the coffee I made.
