I purchased 36 months for our upcoming 2 year old granddaughter that is long and typical weight. If your child is a little on the heavier side, need not to worry. It has some additional stretch and width.

Shrink in the wash
LOVE THEM. They’re so cute on my baby girl but they run small and shrink even more in the wash :( I would order a size or 2 up.
