Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX10 II Paperback – December 12, 2015

I have several other White's books and they are all excellent. This books helps explain the operations of the camera and adds useful detail about images and video that can help using the camera much more effectively. It doesn't replace the basic or Advanced Sony User manual that describes the function of every button and switch. It adds just enough additional information in a very readable style. The included images are also very helpful in understanding how and why you might use a particular setting.I generally don't read the books cover to cover but skip to the areas that I feel i need some extra help. After reading the book I feel like I can use my camera much more effectively. It seems like one of the better add on purchases that does more to help my images than any filter I could purchase at a much higher price. I bought the kindle versions, so I can carry the book with me when ever i travel with my camera.

This book is a must-have for RX-10 II owners. As time goes on the documentation from the manufacturers has gone downhill to the point of being nearly useless. This book clearly explains all the fine features of the camera that would be otherwise missed in the poor Sony documentation.

This book has unlocked my camera. I had used the on-line manual quite a bit but was still just shooting in "auto" as the on-line documentation was difficult for me to follow. This book tells how to use the many features of the RX10M2 and when to use them. Well worth the money. Sony could and should do much better with the documentation. Wonderful guide to this camera.

The book offers a detailed and easily understandable guide to the Sony DSC-RX10II camera.

This book is essential in understanding the camera. Without it I would be lost. The author takes you through all the menus and options the camera has to offer. He recommends, through his personal experience, what features are useful and which are not. I enjoyed sitting down with the book and camera in my lap and trying all the settings and features the author describes. Well organized and well written.

Quality of print and pictures is shoddy ... pity as the content is good. None the less still essential and helpful for beginners as there seems to be nothing else out there.

I found the Sony Manual that came with the camera and its notoriously confusing UI a serious problem as a new user. However, the camera met my expections in terms of portability and image quality. Whit's book was a great help for me and I expect for any user new to the Sony UI.

Great book. Helps you understand all the features of this great camera. My only complaint is that whomever shipped the book did not package it properly, and the whole book was bent. Oh well

I have not read all of this book because it is not that type of book; you dip into it as you need it. Although I have used a lot of cameras, new digital ones are complicated and to get the best from one, you really need a good guide. That is exactly what this book is! It is an excellent guide to the Sony RX10 II. It starts by covering the buttons etc on the outside of the camera body but progresses into more complicated topics such as settings for the video function. The author is very helpful in giving suggested settings for a variety of topics and I've found these to be useful as a starting place, something that the author suggests you do. Overall, it is excellent with in-depth coverage of all the functions of the camera. I recommend it highly to anyone who buys a Sony RX10 II.

Books about cameras are getting scarce. This series is exceptional. The writing is clear and thoughtful. It doesn't just reiterate the pathetic Sony guide, it gives guidance, based on experience, as to how to choose the most appropriate settings and how to get the best out of the camera..

Any Sony user will be aware of the unbelievably poor user manuals.Sony should include this with their camera – I'd have been happy to pay the extra and not have to encounter the hours of frustration trying to get to grips with what turns out to be a sensational camera badly let down by its own instructions.This has to be a must-have for all users - you won't regret the purchase.

Far better in-depth explanations than found in the Sony guide/manual that came with the camera. The Sony DSC - RX10 II is a great camera, and if you have one, you need this guide to allow it to be used to it’s full potential - and to appreciate what an excellent bit of kit it is. Well worth the money!

Provides detailed descriptions for every menu item and function with clear easy to understand examples for usage. A lot of effort must have gone into compiling this book that provides the background you need to make the most of this great camera and its extensive and potentially baffling features!
