Is the movement Japanese and if not why are you advertising it as having one?

The movement is unbranded as far as I can see, and that leads me to believe that it is probably of Chinese make. Keeps ok time, just ok, you can regulate it, but I don't wear it enough to justify doing that.

How easy is it to remove links?

I don't know, I removed the entire band and replaced it with a leather strap.
