Inexpensive USB outlet for a motorcycle
There are a couple of things I want on every motorcycle I own: -A cellphone holder so I can use GPS -A charger so I can keep using my phone GPS without worrying about battery life With these two items I can jump on the bike, ride for as long as my butt and my gas tank will allow, and not worry about running out of phone battery in the middle of nowhere. This unit is dead simple to install. The ring terminals go on the battery posts, the wire gets routed to the front of the bike, and the outlet is placed somewhere you can plug in a charging cable and have it reach your phone. I used 3M double-sided tape to bond it to the triple tree in a convenient spot. The charger body is very tiny so it's easy to find a place for it. I then looped up all the slack in the cable and zip-tied it to a nearby wiring harness to keep things from dangling. The charger has worked fine. It keeps my old and power-hungry phone topped up during riding. I like the fact that the wiring harness has a fuse installed near the battery. If a wire chafes through and grounds out on the frame, it'll pop the fuse. I won't have to worry about a smoking wire running the entire length of the bike underneath my plastic fairings (or near another wiring harness). For less than $10, this charger is well worth buying.

Good for price. After 4 months still working well to charge iPhone from motorcycle
Works fine to charge iPhone from motorcycle and has not created any "unsupported device" error codes on phone when charging. Low cost to purchase. It's very clear how to install it. For 4 months and 7000 miles it's worked perfectly, however it is starting to look a little weathered, including red cord is showing some sun fading, but that's not impacting functionality. Physically small so not very intrusive on the bike. Does not run hot. If there is any sleeping parasitic drain from battery it's very minimal, so I just leave it plugged in and permanently zip tied it to the handlebars so it conveniently sits ready to use all the time. There might be better, but not for the price. Yes, would buy again.

A must have for bikes and other toys!
I use these on all of my bikes, its a great unit. The fact it is an SAE plug makes it super easy to plug in a tender if needed. Only ever had one go bad because some dummy (me) left it open all year.

Simple way to add a USB port to your bike
The DR650SE I ride is an old school motorcycle; among other characteristics, it's totally lacking in any "tech". I wanted a setup for my cellphone and the first thing I needed was power. This is a very simple USB setup; it supplies standard 5vdc USB power many electronic bike accessories use to operate ...and it can be used to charge a cellphone. The socket assembly is held to your handle bar using zip ties ...which aren't included. The extension line to the battery was plenty long enough to use on my DR and includes a 7.5 amp fuse. There's an SAE connector allowing you to disconnect the USB port when not in use (advised by the instructions) and allowing you to connect a battery charger/tender having SAE connections. The unit runs on 12 - 24v DC and provides the standard USB 5vdc output. Inside the socket module are all the electronics controlling output voltage and amperage. The module doesn't support "fast charging" ...which makes sense since it's NOT solely a phone charger but a source of 5vdc USB power. I haven't tested the water resistance capability of the socket module so I can't comment on how well it keeps out water. The socket has a snug-fitting cap to keep water and debris out of it when not in use; this, via the description, is the only time the plug module will be anything approaching water proof. If the USB port is in use, facing upwards and you end up in the rain ...water *will* get into the socket. There's nothing special about the USB socket itself that looks like it would keep out water. You might be able to to flip the socket upside down (so the USB port faces down) and this may improve chances the socket doesn't get water in it but ...no guarantee. The plug module is solid and appears to be sealed; the cord inlet on the bottom has a strain relief/seal. So far this USB module has worked well; I have not had any issues and it hasn't damaged my Android phone; it works fine as a phone charger. If you know you're going to be riding in wet weather, I would not recommend using the port; put the cover on the port or flip it upside down and hope.

Easy install. I use it for a dashcam.
Easy to install. I have been using this on my bike for about a year and it has worked well. I use it to power an on board dashcam for my motorcycle. It works well. I will purchase another one for my next bike.

Great value
Great cheap product, works perfectly, cables are only just long enough to fit my DRZ400 as the battery is back under the rear fender.
