Bought this to mount my phone ( A Sony Xperia) on my motorbike on a trip I was taking at fairly short notice and didn't have money for better-known brands. The reviews seem favourable so I gave it a go. To be fair I got a year of pretty good use out of the holder and for the most part it was secure and perfectly functional. However just about the year mark and with 4000miles of use under its belt, as I rode up the motorway doing about 70mph I suddenly became aware of the phone shaking more than normal, and then just as suddenly, the phone and phone clamp flew off hitting me on the chest before bouncing down the hard shoulder.I stopped and was able to recover my phone undamaged in the holder which was still gripping the handset. So it's plenty strong to hold the handset....the weakness is in the swan neck that clamps the holder to the handlebar mount. This had snapped....probably with vibration over time weakening the plastic. A case of where plastic very possibly isn't the best material for something exposed to vibration for a while. Perhaps if this part was more solidly cast metal it would last. So if you are at a push and need a phone holder ( especially one that doesn't conform to the Google/iPhone/Samsung device dimensions with ready-made mounts) for a short while or only intend to use it occasionally, it's fine, but for longer life, save your pennies and buy an admittedly dearer but more robust brand of phone holder.

Highly recommended as holds the phone very securely, study, and value for money. Unlike some other mobile phone bike clamps it has built in rubber which means its very easy to install or to swap between bikes with no loose bits of rubber to worry about losing or getting in the correct place to install. Also as the tighening screw is on in inside edge of the clamp it makes it very easy to open and close and can be secured very tightly. The generous size of the part of the clamp that hold the phone directly means it can fit a wide variety of phone sizes and shapes and holds it very securely. Even when unlocked it holds the phone securely. The few issues with it are that the locking mechanism is very stiff but i expect that to ease up over time and also makes it far more secure as anyone attempting to steal the phone quickly will fail. Also the screw that hold the ball joint secure was very difficult indeed to get on but once on was fine. This phone holder really does hold the phone secure even after going over very rough surfaces and off road. Recommended

bought cheap before, it lasts 5 minutes. These last.... and can use with or without any existing case (so no special case required unlike quadlock)...

Used this phone holder for a 10 hour motorcycle journey and it never once moved or came loose.What I really like:1. The sturdy feel on the bike with all the vibrations and it didn't move out of place even once.2. The quality (only used it a few days so far) looks and feels great.3. It is very easily removable from the motorcycle (1 inch diameter) handle, leaving the motorcycle looking clean4. It is easy to adjust all joints quickly (once setup I didn't have to tighten the other ball joint - I only tightened and loosened the grip that holds onto the handle bar.What I dislike:NothingWhat could be improved:Perhaps an optional rubber fastener as a secondary safety option to prevent the phone holder from falling off the handle in case the user doesn't tighten the handle grip properly before setting off on journey.

It’s so nice to receive an item that’s so well made for a great price. I was going to buy a Quadlock for £70 and was put off because I wanted to keep my iPhone in its leather folio case. I bought this hoping the width including the case wouldn’t be a problem and it wasn’t. Well chuffed.

A very good product accommodates most phones

Bought to use on Mountain bike. My phone has a 4mm raised back to accommodate its large battery with additional protrusion where the camera lenses are. The product clamps are to far back so although wide enough to grip the phone edge and corners no problem, the phone will not fit securely enough as it is being forced out of the clamps. The reality is that any phone more than 13mm thick rather than the 15mm claimed, wont be entirely bedded into the holder. I tried bending the clamp support metals to bring them forward of the base but the metal is really high quality and wont bend easily. If seriously forced, it snaps rather than bends. The spring is plenty strong enough to retain the phone but the locking tag does not slide easily and wont always fully engage. The handlebar clamp is very good and the ball and socket joint is strong with quality moulding onto the base plate too. It's a very good product, probably the strongest I have tried, just not going to work for me. If they bring out a similar one that allows more space behind then Ill buy it.

I was quite happy at first, but later realised it’s bulky and noisy when you ride.Might be quite difficult to lock/unlock, I was also afraid to brake this small red lever.One day it just snapped and I’m glad I caught my phone!I only used it while commuting, so didn’t have any hard bumps or any difficult terrain when it snapped.
