I took one a day until the bottle was gone. No side effects at all, not even any constipation from them like normal iron pills. Can't speak on absorbency only because I did not get a blood test before and after I took these.

I like these because they don’t have an odor and they don’t upset my stomach the way other iron supplements have in the past. I don’t know how effective they are yet because I haven’t had lab work done.

Up until a couple years ago, I had been using Twinlabs Daily One Caps with Iron, a multivitamin still my favorite which provides 10mg of iron as carbonyl iron. Prior to this multivitamin, I had been using the same product without iron, and decided to try an iron supplement due to lack of energy from not being a meat eater (and also being a daily consumer of aspirin). Unfortunately, after using this product several years, it became no longer available and I needed to find a substitute. Eventually, I settled on Garden of Life mykind Organics Men's Once Daily Whole Food Multivitamin. However, because this Garden of Life product is targeted for men, it doesn't provide iron, so I needed to find a separate iron supplement, eventually settling on Thorne Research Iron Bisglycinate which provides 25mg of iron. In recent months, I've been experimenting with different iron supplements from various manufacturers. While the first alternative I tried was Proferrin, which I liked, this one from Solgar Earth Source provides a dosage of 27mg. The iron in this Solgar Earth Source product is referred to in the supplement facts on the product label as "Koji fermented iron sulfate". According to the product description, "Koji" (a Japanese term for "cultured grain") is derived from a starter culture grown on rice, and is "clinically shown to have a slow and steady absorption rate into the bloodstream compared to the most commonly used supplemental source of elemental iron". While this slow-release differentiator is appealing to me when comparing with other forms of iron, I don't appreciate the product description here claiming that "iron-rich blood contributes to cardiovascular support and a variety of bodily functions", because one should tread wearily: iron overload is a common problem that you'll want to avoid, because if left untreated it can contribute to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases and many other health problems. According to research, an ideal level of serum ferritin for adult men and non-menstruating women is somewhere between 30 and 60 ng/mL, so make sure you are regularly tested.

This is the only iron I tried that there is literally not one side effect.

I didn't expect much, but I'm more satisfied than I thought.I want to buy it again later.
