Beginner's Guide to Comic Art: Characters

Pointless for beginners
The title will lead you to believe this book is for instructional purposes for the beginner who wants to draw comics. Almost every other topic is taught by a different artist, resulting in poor flow as well as a lack of standards. The chapter headed by Steve Rude is arguably the only one worth any value. A large segment of the book is dedicated to showing off illustrations by several artists with no commentary. You are better off with Robert Marzullo, or Christopher Hart.

A worthwhile book for any comic artist's library.
I just received the book just today. Very inspirational. Pages are beautifully laid out. They give me ideas for art and page layouts.Beginning pages cover traditional tools that would non-digital artists. For those interested in art softwares, the book mentions Photoshop, Corel Painter, Manga Studio 5 EX and Artrage. If you want free open source softwares, consider Krita, MyPaint or Gimp. For vector art, there is Inkscape as an alternative to Illustrator. Affinity Designer is affordable, another alternative to Illustrator. If you want custom brushes and textures, check out Brusheezy and DeviantArt.

Bom guia para artistas
O livro é interessante, tem alguns insights legais. Bom para quem está começando mas deixa a desejar para artistas com um pouco mais de experiência. A seleção de artistas é extremamente pertinente e é bem inspirador.
