Tool holds hogrings without modification out of the box. Hogrings are great quality experienced with my upholstery work.

I like that they are spring loaded so it holds the hog ring in place while you work the material. I can see this set working well on fence repair, my use was strictly automotive upholstery and they worked perfectly. Only thing I might change is the grip, it tended to twist slightly while compressing the rings but was a non issue in how the tool performed and doesn't reduce the star rating.

This works fine, but the tool and rings are on the flimsy side. They are fine for minimal use.

Pliers are well made and sturdy. Rings are very sturdy i use these to do upholstery especially in vehicles they do a good job

Got this tool for upholstering some leather seats in my Jag. Very helpful and well-priced. The assortment of hog rings was also beneficial- had every size I needed. The handle grips can slide slightly, so if you are looking to use this tool daily, you might find one with a different grip. But for intermittent use, great tool for the cost- good value.

These offset hog ring pliers work excellent. Don’t try and install hog rings w regular pliers or needle nose type pliers. You won’t be happy. These work great and the hog rings that come with them are very stout.

All the rings are great, great value alone, considering the rings, BUT the pliers are terrible, the rings pop out or slip and don’t close properly. I took a file and scuffed the jaws and they griped and worked better, but in the end just used “lineman pliers” and they worked better. The other thing with the pliers, I didn’t like the “spring closed” feature, pain to load the rings. I would probably buy again just for the rings.

Easy to use. I used the large and medium sized hog rings included for installing seat covers and the included quantity were more than enough to finish the project. The pliers worked great for both removing the old rings and installing the new ones.

I never used a hog ring pliers before. I looked up which hog ring plier was easiest to use and this one came up. Reviews were accurate.
