This size of felting surface is great and works for both desk and lap felting purposes! I have had no issues with lint or anything like that and it has a great weight to it. Thanks!

My friend recently got me into the felting hobby. She gifted me the needles and some felt and said I could use a sponge as the base. Instead, I decided to order this mat. So glad I did. It's a large size that sits comfortably in my lap. It was fun to try my hand at felting while I relaxed on my couch and watched tv. Thick and large enough that you don't have to worry about poking through or around your project.

The mat is a wonderful texture. There is less resistance than the mat I had been using so I think the needles will last longer. It’s also the best looking mat I’ve ever used. Love it!

This is a really nice wool pad for felting. As other reviews mention, it does sink in a bit over time from poking your project, but that does not diminish the quality or usability. Definitely recommend!

I’m very happy with pad for felting.

My husband and I are both new to needle felting. Previously, we had been using plastic foam pads and were getting tired of the wool sticking to it and the quick indents into the foam. So, we upgraded to these pads. We were so happy with the larger size that we ordered a small one—just to hold our needles. Besides loving the naturalness of them (instead of plastic), we have found them easier to needle felt on. That is not to say that some wool doesn't still stick to the pad. It does—just not as much and after each session, I pull off what is left there in order to have it ready to go for the next time I felt. I highly recommend the pads.

I am a 2D felting fool! Felting many hours every day Since deciding to try flat felting early in Feb. used foam mats previous to this one. This mat is very kind to your needles. Haven’t broken a needle since the mat arrived. It does collect wool on the surface, I scrape it off and save for gray when I need it for shadows and such. Def worth the $$$. If you felt a lot, buy this one! (I bought a different brand first and it was so stiff it broke my needles!). Stick with Woobuddy!

Best needle felting mat. Well worth the money.

I'm new to needle felting and up to now have been using a foam block that came with my starter kit. I liked the look of these and saw someone on YouTube using these so decided to try one (well 2 actually, I bought the small one as well) I like it, but find that the item your felting leaves more fibres than on the foam block which means moving it more frequently so it doesn't get stuck!. I think this might be more to do with my inexperience of this craft than the product itself. On the plus side it is a good size, comfortable and more sturdy than the foam block.

Excellent quality, great size and generally awesome. Much much better than foam mats, it doesn't come apart or lose density. Highly recommended bit of kit for needle felters.
