Works well for coarse hair
This hair gloss really made my hair so soft and seemed to smooth it out beautifully I tend to have very coarse hair after shampooing and this makes it feel incredibly luxurious the smell is beautiful as well! The fragrance reminds me of Tom Ford’s perfume Soleil blanc which smells like a light beach scent! It compliments it beautifully

GREAT on Crazy, Graying Hair
We all know going gray is not for the weak. You get frizz and weird waves and bends—seriously, bends—in the most random places, and they appear in multiples along each scary strand if you let it get long enough. This gloss actually changes all of that. Everything gets smooth and even shiny. And soft. And it’s really quick to use. You don’t have to leave it on for a long time. I apply it and rinse it out. It’s my new favorite product.

Bad smell
It's an ok product but has a bad smell that takes forever to go away after your hair is dry. Shine doesn't last too long.

IF USED CORRECTLY, keeps your color true and hair glossy post-coloring.
It seems, in some of the reviews, that users misunderstand what this product does and doesn’t do. It isn’t going to bring drastically brassy hair back to a cool tone and it isn’t going to be a substitute for a good conditioner. But, if used properly, it will help you keep that post-color sleekness and add longevity to your color! For background, I have gray hair that is lowlighted and highlighted to a sandy blonde. I use a very good shampoo and conditioner (Pureology Hydrate) and wash my hair 3-4 times per week; we have neither hard nor soft water where I live. Before using this product, my hair would maintain the lowlights for about three weeks by which time everything was starting to look a little worn out and sometimes a bit brassy. Most purple shampoos and conditioners seem to dry out my hair and tend to strip the lowlights. Now that I am using this Breaking Brass formula – from the first post-coloring shampoo onward – my color stays truer and my hair is healthier. This is what I do: wash hair, squeeze it as dry as possible then use a dry washcloth to pat hair and pick up more excess water, shake Breaking Brass (this gives you a finer foam), pump 9 times into one hand (# of pumps depends on how much hair you have), split between two hands and apply to crown area then down to ends. IF YOU NEED MORE TONING FOR BRASS, add a pea sized amount of Kenra Brightening Treatment Intense Violet Masque (also sold on Amazon). I twist up my shoulder-length hair and hold it with a claw clip. Now spend some time letting it do its magic – personally, I shave my legs. After 4-5 minutes, remove the claw clip and rinse your hair. Condition with your normal conditioner (again, I use Pureology Hydrate). I clip my hair back up while the conditioner is working and finish my shower. Rinse the conditioner out and style as normal. It’s really made such a difference in my hair – I have it on Subscribe and Save!

Works and smells great!
I recently bleached my hair and got the dreaded orange effect. After two rounds of toning I finally had a shade of blond that was ok, but I was still looking for something more. After googling products to help with brassy tones I stumbled upon this gem. My hair felt so soft and smelled fantastic after using this. It helped remove brass tones, but it didn't have a drastic result, so if you're looking to change orange to icy overnight this isn't for you.I did not immediately order a second bottle when I finished the first. I wasn't sure if I felt the need to continue using it until I noticed my hair was dull and lacking it's usual shine after two weeks of not using it.The gloss comes out as a foam that I work through my hair from tip to root before conditioning. I leave it in for a minimum of five minutes before rinsing (usually the time it takes to shave on leg haha). I use it every time I wash my hair (3 times a week), but for those who don't want to replace it as frequently I think you could get away with only using it every other wash.I am so glad I found this product when I did... The only bad thing is it looks like I'll be buying it the rest of my life haha

very effective
I've read some unfavorable reviews of this gloss and feel like I need to mention that I found it very effective and useful for what I wanted. Since March 2020 we have been staying at home except for essentials. I haven't been to the salon for a year and I have blonde foil highlights and it is now about 5 inches gray of various shades, some very light, and some gray/brown. I wanted something to add a little shine to the very light gray and sort of even out the bottom highlights. It's not the perfect look that I'd want but it does highlight and brightens the light gray strands enough to look decent. That's really all I wanted it for. But the extra bonus is that it tamed my frizziness which you get when your hair is graying, and it made it soft and younger looking. I'd say I'd use it even if and when I went back to the salon. It's not a dye or something that lifts your color, it is a gloss with some pigment in it. I had good success if I put more on than recommended and left it on for about 10 15 minutes out of the shower, then rinsed and used conditioner. The conditioner that I used is Pantene Sunlit Blonde daily rescue conditioner (only used a tiny tiny amount). I'm happy with the Rita Hazan product. If you have a few gray strands in your hair, colored or not, you could probably benefit from using this. It's not dramatic but made enough of a difference in my hair to buy it again.

Is this a gloss or a glaze? In any case it did not work for me.
After using this product twice (first for 15min, then the the second time for 1 hour) I did not notice any appreciable difference (shine) to my hair. I expected this to be a gloss as advertised, not a glaze. My first clue was the instructions on the bottle suggesting that you use 2 to 3 times a week. For the price I was very disappointed. Will go back to my old products for shine.

It was not worth it to me
I don't see a big difference. I guess my hair are too dark to use it probably. Wouldn't purchase again and don't see added brilliance either.
