I picked this up for my aging parents who use zip ties on the farm and gardening.The adjustment is just about to stiff to be moved, as a matter of fact, I could not get it back off setting 3.I tried 3 different brands of ties including the expensive Gardner Bender brand on a dowel, all attempts had the same results, not tight and every one of them had enough of a tab left to hurt someone. I had to knip them off with a flush cutter.Since I will have to use 2 tools to keep from getting cuts on zipties ill go back to pliers and flush cutters, it will be just as fast as these things.They will be returned.

I think the easiest way to explain why you need this tool is this, you can pound in a nail with a rock so why do you need a hammer? I don't install a lot of zip ties but when I do there were several tools involved. I used pliers to pull them tighter, and a flush cutter to trim them at a minimum. This tool puts the right tension on the zip tie and then cuts it flush. The tension adjuster is a little rough but this isn't exactly a professional tool either. This one was worth it and I wish I bought it sooner.

Wished I would of purchased this zip tie tightening unit before. Easy to use and does a good job as well.

Does not grab the smooth side of zip ties like what I use at work. I believe that one is made by Eastwood.
