A little complication, but a good vendor Please read.
If you like to skim just read the last paragraph, I'm wordy, it's short.I have seen in other vendors sale info that they are not responsible for damage during shipping. I ordered these because they are the best price anywhere. When they arrived the tender care of the postal service was evident in the condition of the airlocks. Two of them rendered unusable via shipping. The package they came in was a bubble envelope and as far as I can tell they were packaged in a way that should have saved them from harm, alas it did not. All shipping can be a risk to merchandise so I contacted learn to brew Via amazon. I included pictures so that I would be creditable . They did not request the photos but it seems to me I would want to be certain in their position. The response was quick from them. They offered to replace my items and they were most helpful and polite. The airlock that worked I put into service the same day with small repairs. Frankly they did exactly what I needed from a store I will continue to use and they will continue to receive my business and I will prefer them in my exchanges due to their customer service. The airlock is an airlock, good price, fair plastic and it works. These are a common item amongst those of use that ferment and brew, had it only been the device that I needed I would have probably given this transaction three stars they are simply airlocks. But to buy from a vendor that will promptly give you service has a value all it's own.The price is good ( I do my research) , the airlocks are standard and the vendor is great. If you need them buy them here, almost all of them are delicate from wherever you get them so the insurance of an honorable merchant is key.

Easy to clean, works very well.
Easy to clean, works very well. These are your typical workhorses 3 pieces airlocks. They are not as fun to watch as the "2-bubles" kinds like these (Twin Bubble Airlock for Wine Making and Beer Making (Pack of 3)), but they are superior in my opinion.Pros:- you can clean and sanitize them very easily, just separate the parts and clean them. This is huge IMO.- I like the fact that they have some kind of a 'splash block' at the bottom part that will help keep the "foam" inside your container and not inside the airlock.- they are easy to fill/refill. I personally use the cheapest vodka money can buy to fill the airlock. That blocks all chances of wild yeast contamination through the airlock, and doesn't seem to evaporate too fast either. I install it in the carboy bung first, as the plastic is fragile, then put the bung in place. No fear of getting water/liquid out of the airlock during the process as I have it empty. Then I drop the middle part in.I then pour the liquid (vodka here) in. IT's easy to pour, no need to aim, just pour it in slowly until the liquid reaches the line marks, and that's it. Put the 3rd part (the cap on top) in and you are done.cons:- buy more than one (from any seller/place really), as you will break some eventually, and at a bad time. (like trying to remove it from the bung and reuse for a secondary fermentation... The plastic is somewhat brittle, but that's expected, and for the price, these are great.

Good at its job
These airlocks are decent to say the least. They're clearly marked (like they're transparent but if you know it's there you can easily read it), easy to clean, and simple to use. That said I did have some problems using them. Keep in mind though, that I bought these for my first brew ever with no guidance when it comes to airlocks so most of these things I attribute to user error. So keep in mind, the following are suggestions to you if you use them, not complaints about the product. In fact I'd recommend them and should I need more will likely get this kind again.1. Easily Overfill-able: I was making mead and when I first made the must I slapped one of these airlocks together and filled it past the fill line which I didn't actually realize was there. Moving it to it's fermenting location some of the water sloshed into the opening as a result but thankfully nothing bad came of that since I'd cleaned it very thoroughly. Afterwards I saw the fill line and did not have that problem again.2. Suction Issues: Because there was too much pressure in my glass carboy (which broke recently with the brew in it because of how they're manufactured. Use Plastic and avoid that.) and not having an undrilled bung for my plastic one I tried using these to lock it for aging twice. Because there isn't any CO2 being produced, the pressure is constant because the lock releases pressure but wont let it back in.The first time when I tried to pull it out, it sucked the water into the alcohol as I pulled it out (Which I then removed by pouring that bit out. Use food colouring or something to make your air lock liquid thicker just in case this happens to you no matter what airlock you buy. It saved me.). The second time I tried to remove the bell shaped middle piece (dividing the aired spaces)but pulling the lid off suctioned the water up toward the inward opening and touching the bell dumped it into it. This is probably due to the holes in the opening being easy to cover with just a thumb. That being said, if you use a solid bung after primary, you shouldn't have this problem, after all I didn't have these problems during fermentation.3. Fragile?: One of the three airlocks didn't survive being pulled from it's bung and I'm not sure why. It cracked almost straight up and down so I don't know if that was because it got twisted a bit coming out or what. The other two have shown no signs of damage at all, and I've made no conscious effort to be delicate with them so I don't know.4. Loose-able: not a design flaw by any means but the first time I cleaned one the lid straight up disappeared without a trace. Later another almost went down the drain. Be careful keeping track of them.Pros:+Easy to figure out++Easy to clean+Good looking design++Performed well with an overflow situationCons:-Easy to block air holes when opening lid which can have negative results, though you shouldn't need to worry about that.-Small pieces are by nature easily lost, and even more so when they float and an open drain is involved.-Might break if twisted in a tight bung. Jury is out on that though.
