It has a terrible odor/smell. Will this dissipate and will salt absorb the smell.

Received mine today, 3/23/23, and it has a very strong smell which reminds me of turpentine. I have hand washed it with dish soap and allowing to dry. Still no improvement in the smell. I'm concerned about these noxious fumes contaminating the salt and poisoning us! I'll try again to wash and allow to air dry. If it doesn't improve, I'll need to send back.

It is beautiful but the system whereby it rotates (a simple screw that doesnt look too good) should be rethought in favor of something that looks nicer.
