Helpful. A more focused version of Untangled
The points in here are solid and it really helped me rethink my understanding of my stepdaughter especially when it came to social anxiety and shyness. It helped her immensely as well as she has been reading the book with me.On a more critical review, it’s a bit redundant if you have read her other book untangled but it is a more in depth and focused look at specifically anxiety and stress. It is well written, easy to get the concepts. The examples and dialogue are easy to follow and it’s easy to relate from a teen perspective and from my own ad a parent.

A highly valuable book.
The book is an interesting, illuminating and helpful book giving relevant useful information on anxiety and stress, so helpful these days to help us cope with the behaviour of our stressed out girls and to provide us parents with guidance in an easy read. This book is fabulous.Previously I bought Lisa Damour's Untangled which enabled me to reach out and help my troubled 12 year old. Again, fabulous and you will not be disappointed with either books.

Well written and helpful, but you will need to compliment if not white
This book is very well written and provided great advice on how to support my daughter navigate the challenges and stresses of being a young woman nowadays. I really appreciated the author’s conversational tone as well as the inclusion of very personal examples and interactions with her patients to exemplify her points. My only criticism is that, althought she tries to incorporate issues of race and socio-economic diversity, the book is mostly focused on the experiences of upper middle class and middle class white young women. I would love to see a book like this written with a focus on Latina and Black young women, but that is not the author’s main audience or experience. Still, I would highly recommend this book to anyone raising daughters as some of the challenges are universal... and then, if you are not white, compliment with other texts about POC young women’s experiences. Recommendation on what to read to support Latinx young women welcome! Please write them below
