works well at high speed
Using it with a pair of TRENDnet USB to Serial Converter, Connect a RS-232 Serial Device to a USB Port, Easy Installation, Universal Plug & Play, TU-S9 adapters and added tester, GGLABS Mini RS-232 DB9 monitor and breakout adapter. A nice set up for testing PPP connections between Linux systems. Just don't ask why I need PPP connections ;) Also handy for connecting to DB-9 serial consoles. I like using the cable, tester, and a USB serial adapter for this because I can see what signals are active. I pushed it past 115.2k -- can't remember the speed, but it was about 4 times faster. Zero errors using Kermit to move a 2M file.

Sturdy cable that will get the job done.
I bought this cable and used to for programming a managed network switch. Item came as described and fast shipping was also given. I would recommend this cable to anyone needing a null modem cable.

RS232 is Alive and Well
What I liked about it - is - that it worked. Not much "not" to like.If you find yourself in a situation where you need one of these critters, your life has a taken a turn for the worse.RS232 has gone the way of the DoDo bird...Unless, you work on archaic electronic equipment that belongs in a museum.Ergo, My need for a RS232 Null Cable.Laptops and/or tablets and/or smartphones no longer support a RS232 (aka Serial Port)You'll need a USB to RS232 adaptor for a start + drivers + a way to see if the simulated port is working.National Instruments has sumthun called NI-Max, which will setup and confirm that the adapter is working. This particular cable (Female to Female) was just what I was looking for.The (older than dirt) oscilloscope I was trying to talk to - only had a RS232 communication port with a Male 9 pin cannon connector. The USB to RS232 adapter had a Male 9 pin cannon connector. The Null cable is configured such that it expects to screw on to threaded sockets. The oscilloscope had them, the adapter did not.It still works - you just can't jiggle the connects much.Using NI-Max, I was able to send an inquiry to the scope, that Identified itself. The automated testing software had no trouble running its tests.Caveats:Not all Null Cables are created equal. All my application required was requiring that pins 2 and 3 be rolled.More complicated Null Cables may incorporate jumpers in the back shells of the 9pin cannons, which I don't believe this cable has. This cable rolls pins 2 and 3 - pins 1, 5 and 9 feed straight thru.I couldn't find any jumpers. It seems well made.It works. What more can you ask for?

NULL modem cable will not work with Brocade switch console - needs straight thru
Bought this to console into my Brocade 10Gb switches and no-go, finally found a cable spec for Brocade console cable and its 2<->2 3<->3 7<->7 8<->8 others are reserved... had to cut the cable and patch it. No fault of the vendor, it says NULL, and pretty sure Cisco etc follow this, but Brocade does its own thing :-( 2 hours later, switch configured.

Works as expected
No complaints, works as expected. Wish it was a tad thicker gauge wire, but it works fine.

Works great but not with Cisco switches
Works great and the quality is very good.Update: Removing 2 stars because it does not work with Cisco SG300 switches.
