Good solid floats BUT ALWAYS USE TEFLON TAPE
I had to set up a second short tank for young calves this year and needed a second float. These are great, sturdy and work well. I've had floats torn out of tanks by cows before, and these can be stomped on and broken if that happens. With these metal floats, you cut down on that possibility by 95%.I do suggest you always use teflon tape with hoses, though, because as with anything like this, you can have corrosion and have a really tough time getting the hoses off if they are left on over winter. Which you shouldn't do, but of course I do it. ;)Anyway, this is a good product. Buy it. :)

Extremely good quality and made in Ametica!
Great quality product and made in America! This unit is all metal including a brass fitting (except for the float) and very well made. Works great attaching to a 100 gallon Rubbermaid livestock tank. I would buy this again.

Was able to install without issues -
I previously ordered the Rubbermaid float valve which leaked right away. I was able to install the DARE without leaking the first time. Plus if it did, the water would drip into the tank, unlike the Rubbermaid float valve that would drip out on the ground. The metal is sturdy as well and did not strip with a good hand tightening.

Old Goat Ranch Review by the Apprentice Geezer...
Works better than the plastic ones at the local stores.. The plastic ones leak at the hose connection. or the cows nudge them and break the connection and water all over.. Assembly required. Came with optional flow reducers that you install in the base of the hose fitting.. I recommend the smallest one as I have no speed requirement to refill -top off the tank. Less wear and tear on the "valve"

Multiple ways to connect to water tank.
Works great for keeping horses in water during the hot summer days. 4 horses can drink a lot to keep cool and hydrated. This float keeps me from having to go out and water multiple times a day.

Did not work
Plain and simple, it did not work. Installed it, connected water, and the water filled the trough up to the valve, then kept on running right over top of the valve and overflowed the tank. I thought pressure might be an issue, so I bought a pressure reducer and put it on, but that didn't work either. Not sure why mine didn't work, but it didn't. Threw it away.

Works Great with Easy Install
I have had problems with automatic water systems so I decided to put one together myself. I bought 2 of these and 2 water tanks. Very easy to put together and work perfectly!
