Are the crayons good? I shy away from any crayons that aren't Crayola brand as they are usually too waxy.

This set is missing the sharpener. How can I get just that item without returning the entire set?

my thinking would be return the whole set, I am not sure you could get just sharpener. You might try Hobby Lobby?

I need to know the size of the stetch pads themselves... my nephew has requested 8" x 10" sketch pads!

To the best of my knowledge the sketch pads are about the same shape ze of the kit. They were a good size. If you buy this get and depending on the age of your child, make sure you remove the sharp razor knife. I bought this for my 7 year old grandson and he loves it. He has shown a great interest in art and drawing, etc.
