Live at Sweden Rock: 30th Anniversary Show

First of all, this concert was shot in Solvesborg, Sweden in June of 2013 during the Sweden Rock Festival!I had the pleasure of being one of those 30,000 people who attended the anniversary show in Sweden this past summer. It was an amazing show to see in person and to be a part of. Europe is truly a great rock band! Europe delivered on their promise of this show being memorable and not like any of their other shows. This high energy event was a full two hours, songs from all 9 albums were played – including some songs they haven’t played in years, and appearances from specials guests (Gorham and Schenker). Rarely heard from songs like Girl From Lebanon and Prisoners In Paradise made the set, as well as, new material like Firebox and The Beast. What would the night out be without old favorites like Seven Doors Hotel, Rock The Night and The Final Countdown.Joey Tempest was everywhere with his boundless energy, keeping the momentum riding high the entire night. John Leven kept the heartbeat of the band strong and steady. Ian Haugland laid the road work for the band’s rhythmic drive. Master guitarist John Norum hammered in all the metal. And lastly Mic Michaeli wove all the color into the music. Together Europe created one electric event for all their fans around the world.The CD version of Europe Live At Sweden Rock captures the live music of this incredible perfectly. It is a great way to make you feel as if you are at Sweden Rock without leaving the comfort of your home or car. It is a great companion to the DVD.

What a pleasant surprise this was - I bought it on a whim earlier this summer when I am sometimes in the mood for a little lighter fare than my usual diet of Overkill, Testament etc. I really didn't know squat about Europe other than "that" song, but I thought what the heck. WOW! The best parts are actually some of their new stuff from their most recent albums. "You're Not Supposed to Sing the Blues" alone is worth the cost. Imagine paying only about $11 admission to a concert by a band you barely heard of, and then being blown away by over 2 hours of kickass music - well that's what you'll get here. I shoulda paid more attention to these guys in the 80's! Better late than never. If you appreciate great rock & great musicianship, this is for you!

I usually don't expect much from 'Live' CDs and usually don't buy them for that reason, but I could not pass up a 2 disc set for only $8 from a band that I like. Well, not only was this well worth it, it greatly exceeded my expectations. I do own a few other Europe CDs but now I want to buy others that I don't have just based on how good some of these songs sound on their live album. Can't go wrong for the price...it is truly worth even double that. Great band that I can't wait to see live for the first time at the M3 Rock Festival in Maryland!

I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE NOTICED THIS BUT ALL OF THE TRACK NAMES ARE OFF LIKE TRACK 1 SAYS INTRO BUT ITS ACTUALLY RICHES TO RAGS WITCH IS SUPPOSED TO BE TRACK 2 TRACK 2 IS THE SONG FIREBOX ALL THE SONGS ARE OFF BY ONE STILL A GREAT CONCERT THOUGH.

I love the band and i'm surprised for the passion and the energy of this concert, specially Joey tempest. It looks like 30 years are nothing. On the other hand i love the price, in a time when free download is the law, it is great to see band that deliver quality at better price, thank you Europe and thank you amazon.

They were on fire! If u like middle of the road rock, get this!

Awesome concert. Just a joy to hear something from these guys again, this was also a super value its a two disk set and includes the entire concert. One of the best Rock albums I have purchased in the last few years.

The 30th Anniversary album is fantastic. Every song on this album is a winner. The set list was fabulous and no fillers at all. Buy it and you won't be disappointed!!!

I pre-ordered this and couldn't wait for them to arrive, the DVD arrived first and was being played five minutes after it was delivered, at well over two hours, the show is amazing. I would give this 10 stars if I could. What can I say, if you're a Europe fan you just have to buy it, I bought the CD and DVD and they don't disappoint. Joey's voice is as good and strong as ever, and the play list covers all of their 30 years. If you have a Europe fan on your Christmas list they would love this.

Not having any cds by Europe I thought I would give this a go as it was such a bargsin price and I was plently surprised. Great songs and atmosphere with the bonuses of Scott Gorham on Jailbreak and Michael Schenker on Lights Out..both brilliant covers. Even the drum solo isn't tedious as it has backing track much like the late great Cosy Powell used to do. Well worth the punt.

yes definetly a superb album this is really excellent no doubt about it this group started in 1986 and that is when their career took off excellent album recomended especialy the final countdown.which as i stated was a big hit in 86.

I saw Europe live at Manchester Academy a few years ago and this live CD brought it all back. Great music, great rock, what more can you ask for, If you want to hear Europe at their best get this CD you will not be disappointed.
