WixeyWR525 Remote Digital Readout

I use the wixley remote readout on my router lift.It saves a lot of time and tedium. The instructionsare not very good but I’m glad I bought it.

I was sorry to see that it was not compatible with my router table.

My first Wixey product was their "angle cube" that I purchased several years ago and found it indispensable at my table saw. Not too long ago I put a Wixey DRO on my DeWalt thickness planer and love it so when I recently built a new router table I went looking at Wixey products to equip my new JessEM Mast-R-Lift with a DRO. Unlike the DRO for my thickness planer, this unit is much more generic, as it can be used across many different lifts, however as a result, may require some ingenuity to interface with your particular lift, perhaps requiring some drilling, but the instructions are pretty clear on what needs to be done, so I wouldn't let that stop me.That said, I have a 3D printer and printed mounting points that interface directly with my particular lift and table, so installation was a breeze. The DRO works great and while I haven't spent a lot of time with it, I think it will really be a useful addition to my new router workstation.

I deducted 2 stars because of a QC issue and in my opinion, a less than desirable or old design, being that it could have been made to accept the AAA batteries instead of a coin battery. I love their WR700 digital readout that uses AAA batteries that weren't included. The marginal space saving (if any) attributes of the current design aren't significant in this application. The QC issue was that it didn't work with either of the 2 coin batteries that came with it, I do realize that they didn't have to ship it with batteries at all, BUT if you're going to include batteries, why not send good ones, I mean there are other ways to dispose of your toxic waste. It's not all bad though, it does what the manufacturer says it will, I find it to be a convenience and would recommend it.

i am not into gadgets. but the wixey devices are something everyone must have. even as an old timer, i am very excited to step my skills up into a entirely new level.i dont think you can appreciate it what i am saying until you actually use and cut/machine things to the thousandth of an inch. i could never do this before.these readouts are the best purchase i have ever made as far as improvements to my work.they may seem a little strange until you realize what a simple straighforward concept it is. mr wixey is very fast in helping resolve anything you dont understand about set up. i had a learning curve the first time. but the 2nd and 3rd and 4th were installed in 10 minutes.i use them on my table saw, router, and planer, i also use the angle gauges on my jointer and drill press.must have.
