This cord allows a connection from the Apple Pencil to the iPad through an OtterBox case. Without it, the Pencil will not charge (1st gen pencil) without removing the iPad from the case - that was not acceptable. This fits perfectly and gets the job done!

The product was just as depicted minus the cord being able to charge your phone. Sole purpose is for transferring data and audio. If you need a plug in for audio/data transfer then this is it!

needed extension to charge phone while outside

I returned it because what I needed it for would entail movement, and though both connectors fit snuggly, movement of the iPhone or the (in my case) external stereo microphone would break the connection. Once connected and nothing moved, the cable will surely work okay for you.

Exactly what I wanted

Cable arrived June 23, 2021. Bought this cable to connect Apple Pen to iPad and tried it out on same day. The pen could not securely insert into the socket. Then I noticed the insulation had a 1cm slit. Photo attached. I am returning the cable for a refund and will try another brand.

Bought this to replace existing 1-foot extension cable I purchased 2 years ago that was intermittently failing when using with iPhone XR (iOS 15.3.1) and RJ45 lan adapter. Was a bit concerned about a few negative reviews but I can confirm that this cable is sturdy and the male and female ports are solid. Connectivity was bulletproof (no disconnects) and the lightning connector fits well and solidly into iPhone port. No wiggle in any direction. Lightning port is small enough to pass through my thicker Spigen case. I originally had concerns that the 3-foot length of cable might negatively impact signal and charging capability but it seems all good. Bottom line this was a good purchase. Note that the cable itself is pretty firm. My only recommendation for improvement would be to have braided cable to improve flexibility and long term durability.

Works well so far! It would be better if the cable is braided but it’s also hard to find female to male lightning extension cables. Audio does pass through, unlike many other cables on Amazon.

Stopped working after one day. Female connector was too loose to make a good connection.Total waste of money. Do not recommend.
