This is a fantastic book for those of us that live busy and hectic lives. You can pick it up and leave it really easily. A great book to get away from it all and read about amazing animals... One of which features my Fire Investigation Dog 'Sherlock'! Meeting Clare with Sherlock to have photos taken and show everyone how Sherlock works was superb, she is so lovely, down to earth and a really kind hearted person. The picture of Sherlock attached is to remind anyone reading this review to think of others and yourself. You can save a life by making sure you have a working, tested smoke alarm. Fire Services fit them for free so get onto your local areas Fire Brigade site and look for Home Fire Safety Visits. Stay safe everyone. Paul & Sherlock.

Do not read this if you love animals, so many stories involve animals being harmed and killed by humans putting them in danger. I stopped reading a third of the way through after a cat who survived going in to space was killed to study it's brain after. All of this is said matter of factly without even discussing the moral implications.

Present for elderly father who thought this book was excellent. He said this is definitely one of the best stories about animals he has ever read.

Some of the stories in this book I was already familiar with....each is very unique and many tug at the heart strings. This is a wonderful book and if you love animal true stories then this book is for you. It is heroic, compassionate, loving and funny...I especially love that Clare included a snippet of the wonderful Streetcat Bob..RIP within the pages of this heart warming book. The tales are not long or drawn out but yet very informative to the subject. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm sure I won't be alone here.

I bought this for my neighbours daughter who was turning 6. She loves all things animals and especially dogs! She loved it and was delighted to see that she had seen a movie about one of the dogs in it. There is a huge amount of stories and pictures in it and it is a beautiful book.
