La sostituzione del filtro dell'olio è fondamentale e va di pari passo con il cambio dell'olio. Le BMW E36 scandiscono l'intervallo di sostituzione di olio e filtro con il SERVICE INTERVAL (sistema di spie sequenziali per segnalare l'avvicinarsi del momento in cui fare il tagliando). Questo filtro è prodotto da Febi, azienda tedesca che fornisce una vasta offerta di ricambi per le BMW, e con esso vengono forniti gli O-ring sostitutivi e le rondelle di rame (una delle due è per il tappo a vite della coppa dell'olio).Il Service interviene generalmente ogni 12000 km ma varia in base alle condizioni di utilizzo. Oggi gli olii lubrificanti sintetici consentono di allungare gli intervalli di manutenzione ma per chi ha particolare cura del proprio motore si può operare in anticipo, in certi casi anche prima dei 10000 km diversamente basta attenersi al Service dell'auto per mantenere efficiente il motore.

Die Suche nach dem richtigen Filter hat sich eher als schwierig gestaltet, hat mit der richtigen Abbildung und Kennung aber dann doch geklappt. Alle benötigten Ersatzteile sind vorhanden und sauber verpackt. Damit klappt der Ölfilterwechsel made by self dann auch.

questo filtro va bene per gli E36 318is più vecchi, con il motore M42, arriva completo di o-ring e guarnizioni come tutti gli altri filtri - consigliato
