I should have done this years ago
I broke my handle and needed to replace it. So I decided to order this kit instead of the handle alone. I am 200% happy that I did this. I replaced everything this kit came with. I am so glad. Before breaking the handle I would need to push/pull the tailgate to get it to open. Some times down the road a bump would cause the tailgate to drop. Closing the tailgate I would have to slam it then tug on it a few times to make sure it was secure. After replacing all the hardware I can close the tailgate gently and it's secure. The rubber bumper pads are now in place and I will no longer snag my shirt on the exposed tab. The latch bolts are aligned just right, the cables no longer get stuck outside the body when closing. Lower hinges fit better. I was worried about the handle still being plastic, but with everything adjusted correctly you don't have to use much force to get the tailgate open. If you have the option spend a little more on this hardware instead of only replacing the handle you will not regret it.

Latches broken next day.
The latches were such poor quality they failed immediately the next day after installation.

Can shake the tailgate and it will open pretty easy without using the handle.

Plastic tabs installed from factory backwards
Everything about this kit is great, except that my plastic tabs were installed backwards. I was able to change them around but it’s not very easy to do because they are technically one way plastic tabs. It is doable however without breaking them.

Parts missing
I ordered this kit and arrived with a broken piece and others missing. The replacement also came with missing parts and others defective. Do not recommend.

OK product
Install was easy, unfortunately I can open the tailgate with a little force just pulling from the top. Seems the latches themselves don't secure well even if closed all the way
